Has anyone found an easy way start the side tac infinite in the corner with Thor? I’m struggling with it. Also is there a specific rhythm to the reps of the infinite to make them easier?
Hello fellow Thor players! Sorry it’s been so long sense I posted but I have some ft10’s with SSE Wenster that Tsumuji posted last week. I hope you enjoy the matches! Here is the first video:
and here is the second video:
Any feedback, comments, etc. please post, thank you
Hey that’s my team! Except I play Thor/Doom/IM.
You should consider that order because you get safe DHC’s and you can combo off mighty punish. IM is also a better anchor IMO.
Will comment on play later.
I didn’t know anyone else played with Thor & IM on the same team. That’s awesome, with the combos off mighty punish i’m not sure how to do that w/ doom, I’ve never seen it done (doom is new to me lol). Also my IM is mediocre so doom anchor may work better for me at the moment plus my main reason for IM second is for tac infinite (I haven’t practiced dooms yet), but I will definitely consider switching the order in the future.

I play Thor/Dorm/IM but I would also like to know how to combo out of Mighty Punish.
There’s a point during Mighty Punish where the Sphere Flame dhc will whiff on the way up allowing Doom to otg from the knockdown. Cheap Stuff Dawg!
In the corner I bet there’s enough hitstun left to launch after a Chaotic flame DHC or maybe even hit dark matter jump loop. Otherwise maybe if you DHC into flare at the peak of Mighty Punish.
I don’t really play Dorm, but I’m sure there’s something.
Also any character with an install can land a nice fat combo after punish.

It depends on how close you are to the corner because Dorm can launch from a s.M out of Chaotic Flame. I’ll try some stuff, thanks as usual
doesnt work on most relevant characters, you have to xf to be able to confirm

Hey how hard is it to run a pocket Thor? I use to play Dorm/Doom for ages and I’m working hard on Strange/Ammy. It just seems like a good idea with that in mind and my main teams not really having an answer to Morrigan.
Thor isn’t difficult at all if Morrigan is a problem he’s a good answer. I’m assuming you’re fluent in Magneto so Thor gameplay might take some getting used to at first. If you’re serious you’re going to have to put in some time to make your pocket point Thor look scary. Especially against nuts

Thanks. The only time I’d whip him out would be vs. Morrigans who are some of the least nutty players around. Coming from Mags Thor’s tri dash light does seem funny. It’s hard to get it out b4 touching the ground. I also have issues with that fully charged smash on landing in the bnb.
Delay your air chain a bit. When you’re own your way back to the ground is when you hit S. You’ll be able to get the h smash otg easier as for tri dashing L movement you don’t have you to do it as quickly as you would with magneto.
You have to super jump to get Thor’s faster tri dash. That’s probably why it seems slow to you.
This may be old news guys, but I’d like to share what I been using for incoming mixup lately with great effect. Its a poor man’s Spencer mixup… But seems to fair well.
If your familiar with the Spencer mixup when you up grapple… Call assist then horizontal grapple for the left right mixup with ur assist.
Thor can generally do the same thing with heavy mighty strike up, call assist, light mighty strike. Depending on the assist your using, depends on the confirm after the assist hits. A beam assist you should be able to do air H - > to medium mighty strike to medium mighty smash. If it’s a longer assist… They u could probably charge a mighty strike instead.
The cons… Thor doesn’t get as high as Spencer… So it’s not as effective, but you at least get the screen shift which could be enough to momentarily confuse your opponent. Also becuz thor doesn’t get as high it’s alittle less effective on bigs becuz they might block the mighty strike.
I’m in the middle of a move so I can’t make a video about it, but i plan on making one at my earliest convenience
IMO it’s more like:
- Call lock down assist
- Superjump neutral or forward, Strike L, start coming down
-Do something to make your attack coming down ambiguous as to whether it’ll cross up or not,
j.L is good for this
And there you have it. IMO.
Hello Thor thread! Long time lurker, first time poster, etc.
I play Thor/Strange/Ammy, and some of you (hopefully all of you!) have seen e mc’s Thor content. He has a video where off of an air h. Mighty Hurricane, he tags in Strange and does c.L, s.H, m. Mystic Sword and continues the combo with Thor’s assist. This is awesome, but unfortunately, you can’t use Thor to extend your combo later on. However, if you use c.L, s.H (call Ammy), Flames of the Faltine, it should all combo and let you go into FoF loops! Plus, you get the Thor assist for later on in the combo. Just wanted to share this!
For reference, the video I mentioned:
It seems some spoilers in the OP’s post don’t work anymore. Can’t read individual moves’ descriptions for example.
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I’ve removed all the spoilers.
The format is janky, but the information is all there.
Does anybody know notation for combo like this?
Starting from midscreen: beginning with assorted moves -> launcher -> j. MH->Mighty Spark L-> ADD j. H -> so on, so forth…
I need to figure that one out. I could 1mil+ easy if that conserves hitstun well enough.
