"Nem-Assists": The Nemesis Teambuilding/Assists Thread

Rule 1 of Marvel: Any team without Doom on it can immediately improve by having Doom on it
Rule 2 of Marvel: Gucci Belts are always fashionable, no matter what position they are in, but really mesh with a Red and Blue Aura.
Rule 3 of Marvel: Do not talk about Marvel
Rule 4 of Marvel: Duct Tape will save your life
Rule 5 of Marvel: Only talk about Marvel when asking ‘When’s Marvel?’

Vergil sounds like your best bet. Rapid slash helps Nemesis be truly annoying while zoning, and with Taskmaster it can grant him pressure with shield skills in the corner. And Vergil’s a really powerful anchor, and if he ever gets snapped in, he can crossup and convert off rapid slash both by using Tasky’s arrow assist. You could also use missiles, but I think Vergil’s the stronger choice.

Vergil is pretty good, since you have a pretty good vertical assist and alpha counter with Rapid Slash.

Thanks for the help, now i have to learn all that tech with Task’s up arrow assist and get better with Task and Vergil, and hopfully learn some set up with Rapid Slash to open people up lol

I know Airtola plays Nem/Task, bit he doesn’t post here much. Ive played Duke’s Task online (He plays Task, DP, Dorm) and his Task is pretty nasty! So maybe Duke would be willing to share some tech for you. In fact I saw a really informative Nem/Task post be Duke a few posts up that’s really informative.

Up and forward are both pretty cool. Up arrows, I only really know of in respect to combos. I was gonna switch to up arrows for my Task team, but I got distracted with Injustice and school. So, for neutral, no clue, never actually tried it, probably just deadly reach while calling Task, or Task and then immediately deadly reach so that they block it.

Horizontal arrows are pretty swanky with that team too, so it’s up to you, really.

Hey guys quick question. I like A LOT of characters and I want to use a unique team with some cool synergy.
My faves are:
Trish
Nemesis
Chun
Skrull
Iron fist
Ryu
Doom
Iron man
Storm
Haggar

I’d say my play style is pretty rounded. I’m sure these aren’t going to be “optimal” teams, but that’s okay.

Any team ideas with Nemesis on point using these characters?

Doom and Haggar for awesome assists. Nemesis needs them.

Doom is my go to anchor so ill definitely use him. Haggar is awesome but don’t feel comfortably with his mobility. Ill work on him.
How about trish, skrull, or Ryu?
Any way these guys can fit well into a Nemesis/______/Doom shell?
And which assists do you think might work best?

The best thing to do is to go in the lab and experiment or play some casuals with the different layouts. But I’ll say that I used to play Ryu/Nem, and it’s not good at all. Lol :stuck_out_tongue:

Dunno. I’ve used that shell and whatever assist you use depends on your 3rd. Just experiment with the middle person for the best Doom assist choice

Trish can get really tricky with missiles, and her TACs and DHCs are both quite good. I’ve also heard Skrull works pretty well with missiles, but haven’t tried the pair myself. All I know is he’s got a strong DHC and Gil’s used the three on a team together, so he’s the guy to ask.

Haggar/Nemesis have really good assists for each other, but they end up just stepping on each other’s toes in a team together. Very few anchors make that pair work, though missiles could possibly help that.

Thanks for all the great tips guys! I’ve decided to focus on Nemmy/Trish/Doom
I’m pretty sure I’m going to use Clocket and peekaboo assists because it honk they’re definitely the best they have. What assist do you think would be best to use with doom?

Beam or missiles would be good. I saw Goa during Toryuken this past weekend, and he got really good mileage with Trish using missiles.

I’ve been experimenting around with other characters, and I have to say that I really like Magneto. And since the only other character that I can say I really play well is this zombie, I have a question for y’all.

My ‘typical’ team is Nemmy (RL)/xx/Magnus (EM) - xx = Arm, Dorm, Iron Man, PW, other zombie, and Dante etc. - but I’m not sure which character to use, or even if this is the optimal team layout. Magneto anchor or point? T-Type as point or secondary? (I’m open to other character suggestions)

Magneto anchor is pretty hard. Nemesis is really only good in certain instances as a secondary. I’d go Dante though. He’d make great use of disruptor and the DHC isn’t that bad.

With Nem Second you get great THC tricks avaiable with the stun time caused by rockets and the forced ground bounce, but like Gil said, not all characters really benefit from secondary Nem as much as others. Dormammu can get good stuff from it Dante can get extended combos with a DHC from Nem’s BWA -> Dante Devil Trigger. Just lab it up and see what you come up with.
But since you said you are open to suggestions, Hulk benefits a lot from secondary Nem!
Also, which character is ARM and other zombie?

He probably means Spencer and Hsien-Ko

^ yep.

Thanks for the suggestions though. Now, off to the lab~!

EDIT—

Speaking of which on the earlier Nemesis T-Type’s BFF list, Dante’s y assist - weasel shot - was picked over his jam session. I prefer weasel shot over jam session because I think Magneto gets better confirms (and throws) off it, but why is the weasel better than the pillar?

Alright, from my time in the lab I found that I liked the format of Magneto-a/Nemesis-b/Dante-c for most of my matches - especially in the beginning - though I do play Nemesis-b/Magneto-a/Dante-c half the time. I typically zone with Magneto, with random intervals of rushdown.
I use Magneto’s assist to zone - call Magneto, jump air deadly reach/air rocket is alright - and also to make my approach easier. Dante’s assist is more of a lockdown that can set up a command grab or st. H/S if I feel that they’ll mash out. Air control really isn’t that great, so I tend to have Magneto first for that sort of stuff.
