"Nem-Assists": The Nemesis Teambuilding/Assists Thread

Nope, if it did I would never complain about Nemesis combos again. Dorm can use the other two assists with his otg to relaunch, though, as can a ton of characters. I believe Dorm gets a relaunch with clocket and flame carpet midscreen, but I have not tested, and it only works if you have not used up Dark Matter early in the combo, which I do often for my bnb.

Nemesis/Akuma is about as good as any other pairing of Someone/Akuma.

Better question: What DOESN’T Dormammu get off a Nemesis THC. He gets everything. Spells, Resets, combos, Distance, OTGs for him, it just gives everything.

As for Nemesis out front THC…why would you ever do that?

And Duke, the consistency of the move connecting is based on how far away Dorm is when he calls in the THC. Farther and you get a combo. Closer is a rest.

Spencer is safer, and can combo until death after DHC. And the throw conversions you get off of H. Shot. He’ll be my second for this theory team. But who will be my third? I need a beam obviously, but Hawkeye gets into annoying stalemates in XF3 when the opponent matches you, and I’ve averted to Tasky and Magz. Besides, does Magz even help Spencer?

He probably won’t be able to combo after a Nemesis DHC. He used up the bounces.

Yes, but you can also get into a position where the Chaotic flame will pop them up in the corner when you mash, that will allow the THC to combo as well. I’ve done it a few times. So really close depending on the hitstun, or further away on any level of hitstun.

For Nem/Task, Akuma is extra special as an anchor, as it allows Task to create very strong pressure off a shield skills. Storm…no clue.

For Nem/Spencer, you have a ton of choices. If not Hawkeye, any beam works, bolts works, Storm…yeah, probably works, even shuma and arthur are pretty damn strong anchors on that team.

So I’ve decided that I need to build another Nem team. The problem with my current Nem, Hulk, Sent team is that I get zoned out a lot. And playing a big body team, that’s a given issue I gotta face, however, my problem is that I mostly have 0 way to fight back when getting zoned out since both of ALL of my assists take a long time to come out, ESPECIALLY Sent drones. So right now I’m working on Nem(Rocket shot), Chris(Gun shot), Dorm(Dark Hole). Thoughts on this team?

I haven’t tried the combination, but in Theory Marvel I’d go with Purification for Dormington. Gun Shot should give you good Horizontal coverage already, so it covers that other axis for you, especially to boost Chris’ zoning. The characters, as a unit, sound workable though. I’d like to see what you come up with it,

Purification doesn’t work as an anti air. It’s a super ghetto OTG at best. Actually, its best use is making moves that are really negative on block positive.

I’m having issues deciding between low damage, put shit on the screen with Morrigan, or high, make sure they’re dead damage with Nemesis. :confused:

You could have both! I think Nemesis, Morrigan, Doom could work. Deal as much damage with Nem before MorriDoom comes out. :slight_smile:

Nem’s bulky and has a ton of resets, kill or killed he gets meter. He works well with any shell that likes gaining meter, he works better with a shell whose assists compliment him. MorriDoom most likely gives you both. Yeah. That works. MorriDorm…unfortunately I don’t think that works nearly as well.

Wait, you use Sent in your signature. Nemesis/Morrigan/Sentinel would work, that would work just fine.

Unrelated, what is with Nem’s assists and damage on combos? I’m labbing Nova and Strange for a combo video I want to make (need to get them fancy stuff first), and I try some of the advanced bnbs, and it does ok damage. I can’t get higher than that, then I do a string with launcher slam with a much stupider followup, 50-70k more damage. I know, it’s because Nem’s got those gigantic damage one-shot assists, but I feel like I’ve just realized how much more other characters’ assists scale. It’s like night and day. Nothing important here, just felt like ranting.

I’m not getting rid of Dorm/Sent. I just need the right point. I basically just switch around and counter pick point characters.

Meh…I don’t think Nemesis gets as much from Sent drones. Maybe Im using them wrong. But the most I usually get from drone is just lockdown to get additional pressure with tentacles. :-/ But I think I would work great with Morrigan. The only issue is that they disappear if Sent gets hit, and considering how long Sent stays out, that’s very likely.

Yeah, I basically need someone who can cross up to be able to call Drones.

I’ve started experimenting with Nemesis/Hawkeye/Amaterasu lately. How do you guys feel about the team? I’m not too highly skilled with Nem yet, but due to his great meter gain, I can reliably get 3-4 Gimlets/Shuffles thus greatly reducing my opponent’s options.

I’m going to try putting Dante in the second slot behind Nem. I want to see the synergy Nem has with the lightning assist. I figured I’d ask you guys here before I hit the lab because some of you might already have experience with the pairing.

Firstly, can Nem confirm in the air off a lightning hit? I was thinking reaction j.m, j.h, then delay S as much as possible then continue from the ground.

Second, Nem’s M tentacle slam in the corner as we know can be escaped by characters with air dashes/double jumps, so if you call Dante before going for the grab I figure they’ll be grabbed or, if they evade, at least put in blockstun by the assist. I see this as a solid fail safe.

Finally, add in decent DHC damage with a safe DHC out and feel the pair could do some damage. I’d love to hear what you think about these ideas and if any of you have tried this.
