If you don’t find any of the characters fun enough to play without having to be convinced to do so then maybe you shouldn’t be playing.

just learn everyone be a king of matchups

Seriously. I can never understand the “I can’t pick a character” mentality. Just pick the one you enjoy the most. If you don’t really enjoy any of the characters enough to know which one to pick, play another game.

If you’re new to the game, pick up Ken for a while. He’s pretty much 3s wrapped up in one character.

maybe i’d have this dilemma if it were an rpg…
you dont seem like the competitive type, so just pick everyone and have some fun…

My Ryu’s better than yours anyway :wgrin:

Pick anyone dude… whoever’s more fun to you… there is no rules that says u gotta play certain character over this other character?

actually i enjoy playing ryu the most ~even more then Ken but is ryu do predictible to go to competetions?

if theres a guy whos really good at parrying would he be able to parry most of my attacks??!

ok, next time, let’s have a Ryu mirror, first to 10, and let’s see who’s kickin’ ass

it depends on your style. Ryu’s not predictable if you’re not predictable.

Thanx you all for the Help!

okay then Ryu will be my character thanx everybody! for all the help!

Ryu rocks !

Ryu’s cool, my local rival is a Ryu player. He’s got amazing timing on the wakeup denjin, and I seriously need to learn to parry. That or possibly run Rocket Uppercut against him, because he sometimes does it just outside of EX Jet range (and reversal corkscrew blow can’t stuff it unless he’s REALLY close, as far as I’ve seen).

Don’t play Ibuki… she sucks. =(

If you aren’t going to any major tourneys, do you honestly think picking top tier is going to matter?

Amen.

Truth.

I say choose well. I happened to choose Ken to go with for 6 years now. I’m happy with my choice cause ken is my fav char in 3s, very stylish and strong. I was lucky to find a character that suits my play style well and play him from the beginning.

LTB

i am going to go to tourneys but just not in US

Just play the game and listen to that little voice inside your head. It all depends on your situation. There are some people that like using the most powerful characters, there are some that like to use turtles, there are some that like to use quick, combo intensive characters, etc. If you don’t choose who you feel is right for you, more often than not, you won’t get very far. Pretty much all top players feel really comfortable with who they use, and so shit comes naturally to them. Don’t expect a formula for success. Last sentence deleted to keep me from harming you. --TB
