Was it that obvious?
You should have asked for this on the Yang forum. It’s not general, it’s Yang related.
Dude, enough with the holier than thou act. Let me make things clear…
And I’m informing you that this would require a character specific answer, so go to the character specific forums. You don’t need to tell me why you were wrong. You’re the one who took offense to someone letting you know you’re posting in the wrong section. Get over yourself.
Well I was trying to be nice, but if you’re going to be that way about it, just don’t both posting.
Also
is not the point. Yes, the question could have been answered easily by SRKers, but you could have easily answered your own question. I tried to help you out by letting you know that the combo counter can be used to figure out stuff like that. Some of us are genuinely trying to help. It’s up to you whether you want to take the advice, or not.
We regulars can’t answer EVERY question that comes up that should be answered by a little effort on the questioner’s part. It’s like coming up to a group of people on the street and saying, “hey, I know your busy, but can you tell me how to tie my shoes,” and expecting to be served with the simple knowledge you need on call.
1hitparry, I don’t know why you are taking so much offense. Your advice was actually welcomed and I even thanked you for it (I would give good rep if possible). Even **Pherai’s **first response was good advice.
I’m just put off by the fact that while the regulars say they can’t answer every question, they can find a condescending way to respond otherwise. I didn’t realize posting here was such serious business.
All that aside, though, I got some helpful info from this whole affair and I am grateful for that.
Getting trolled on the internet . . . what an amazing new concept!
Heh well sometimes people forget that not everyone is an expert at 3s but don’t let that get you to bent out of shape over it. I mean everyone has to start somewhere. They just want you to look a bit first and then post if you can’t find an answer is all.
Although yeah some people just find it funny or offensive or whatever but really if it’s a simple question give a simple answer right? So no, once the first slash hits you if the opponent does the next slash or two fast enough it will “chain” meaning you can’t do anything till the combo is done.
I do see why this might confuse you though because of the speed. Yang can slow down or speed up the timing of the slashes (especially noticeable in the EX version) but it changes nothing about if it can be blocked or parried or whatever UNLESS he does the slashes really slow so they don’t chain. So my advice? Keep holding back block in case he screws up even though that’s a rare case.
A good reference for checking this is just like they said, look and see if it combos. Like doing a leap attack with Yang hit at the right time can chain with a standing weak kick then an ex slash. Making like a 7 hit combo. Leap attack+ standing short+ EX slash X5. So if the opponent doesn’t make a mistake nothing can be done till all the hits end.
One last thing you might like is if you are already blocking and are fast you can parry in between and counter attack.
example: Yang does low forward, you block. Yang then does the first two slashes but you block the first slash again but hit toward to parry the second slash and then counter with a close strong, fierce, hadouken, SA3 Combo with Ken.
Hope that helped a bit.
The internet is serious business on its own. And SRK is the most serious of serious businesses out there. We’re like, super serious here. Clowning around and sarcasm are about as despised as deodorant.
Indeed. No one on this board ever uses sarcasm.
