Everybody keeps saying he has no mixups mid screen becuase they just backdash.Well, if you are THAT sure they’re gonna backdash, uhm, punish it.

It’s risky. If I know your the type of player that’s backdash-happy, I simply throw out ex MGB on your wakeup. Again, risky… Is it worth it? No, just safe jump with OS U1 or U2. Worst case scenario they block. Once blocked, continue frame traps, throws, etc. Once you get them in the corner- you did something right.

Endurance - 4 1050 health good zoning and anti air so he can keep a lead.
Reversal ---- 3 EX Jet Upper, sht range costs 1 bar but it’s FADC able into c.HK ultra 2 combos. Duck as an anti fireball chip, and an anti viper burn kick which characters would kill for. LK SSB usualy not on wake up but in blockstrings and pressure SSB can beat out a lot of mix ups as I’ve shown time and time again.
AA ------------ 5 2 frame Super. Anti air full Ultra 2. A Counter, Jet upper can lead to 400 stun anti airs. Duck Upper as an anti air as invincibility and is one of the few answers in the game to neutral jumps.
Zoning ------- 3.5 I believe SSF4 2012 will be Buffer Edition. (vanilla fireball/supercharged/ae commandgrabanddivekick) Dudley has a shit ton of buffering options that really controls the normals his opponents can use. Has no problem sitting on a lead while backing his opponent to the corner. Even though c.MK and c.HK are slow they still offer tons of space to work with when you us them as pokes.
Rush --------- 4. strong jump HK some characters cant anti air easily. tons of target combos and OSs as his disposal to stay in. Only problem is his shit frame advantage on most of his moves
Mix up -------- 4. Dudley has no command grab or cross up. Like I explained in Oki he has ways around every character’s options onwake up. And he has several ways to open players up (ssb, f.HK target combo confirms, good walk speed + grab for some crouch techs)
Dmg pot ----- 5 Meterless Punish that works on everyone and adds knockdown + safe jump does 308 damag and over 400 stun. 1 hit confirm can lead into 220ish damage. a free punish combo leads to at least 350 damage being done from 1 bar. Mix up on knockdown also confirms into 340 + damage. Super confirms, Duck upper FADC combos. Counter hits into ultra. anyone lower than 1000 health I’ve probably killed in two combos at high level play. It’s like 3S Makoto when Dudley has full Super meter.1 s.HK and it’s a wrap not even counting resets.
Viability ------- 4.Dudley has the advantage over the following. by at least .5
Ryu Makoto Seth Gouken Gen Dan Sakura Oni Juri Dhalsim Viper Sagat Cammy Deejay Hakan Eryu Guile Blanka Vega T.Hawk Rose.He has lots of even match ups and at most four 6-4 match ups that wont even matter in 2012. The only thing holding players back is arrogance. Dudley’s not low tier he has better match ups than more than half the cast.

Lol. Cause dud can only get 130 dmg OSing and punishing backdash. He totally can’t get up to 500. 3 things you fail to realize: punishing a back dash gives you extra damage, positioning and frame advantage. 3 things you WANT to have. If someone continuously backdashed, I’d just OS them all day.

The name of the game is cutting off your opponents options so you can do what you want or force their hand. If you give up on vital parts of your strategy because you’re afraid of backdash or reversal then you’re just limiting yourself.

Thing is, reversals kill dudley. I would wakeup xx everytime vs any dudley player and 90 percent of the time it works.

Eh, I think Dudley maybe goes even with Gen (really good walkspeed and footsies plus high damage combos), Juri (Fantastic keep away and anti air, walkspeed buffed her footsies a lot, free on wake up though.), Vega (Better pokes and walk speed + air grab makes him annoying to deal with) and Deejay (You just have to play really solid to beat him). He definitely beats Guile and Dhalsim in AE at least though. He loses to Rose 6-4 in my opinion though.

And honestly guys, if people are back dashing, they’re choosing to put themselves that much closer to the corner. If they’re focus > backdashing then they aren’t teching throws on wakeup. I understand it’s hard to recognize patterns with Dudley’s shitty footsie game (leading to few knockdowns), but this is stuff you need to be able to pick up on in a match quickly if you want to be successful with the character.
