What buttons are you guys using for meaty?

Standing MK or HK, but I use Cr. HP if itā€™s laggy enough that Iā€™m not feeling sure of my timing.

the last one doesnā€™t seem to work for me. the seismo whiffs

You doing cr.hp? I canā€™t tell the difference between his standing and crouching fierces, but usually only cr.hp makes the followup possible

i canā€™t even get the seismo during the target combo to connect in the corner.

but on the crossup, its cr.hp i think

You have to hold back and MP + MK. So, you get the close version of the seismo during the target combo.

ok so when i do this mixup now im getting cr.hp but its not facing the correct way :confused:

Do a slightly delayed st.hk instead

This is kinda weird. Delay HK, then I have to immediately hold right before the kick/after Vtrigger to move a little closer, then if you took a little tiny half step he comes down on the other side. Getting the HP to come NOT facing the corner with him behind you is tripping me up to do it consistently

Frame data lists LK stomp as +2 on hit, which Iā€™m pretty sure is wrong. I tested by recording the dummy mashing a cr jab (3f, I used Chun Li as the dummy), and doing cr mk xx lk stomp on hit. The dummy would be doing a cr jab on the earliest possible frame after my stomp, but my 4f moves were trading, when they should be beating out a 3f move. Necalli st.lk (4f) was trading with a 3f normal when I was +2, which shouldnā€™t be possible. Iā€™m guessing its +1

Also who else feels like this characters oki sucks? After rush punch, or dp, or any AA/combo ender, I feel like I canā€™t apply pressure and Iā€™m shoved right back into neutral game where I feel like Necalli kinda struggles :s

Yeah itā€™s trickier to go for oki with him. Iā€™m doing meaty v-skill and saying fuck it, because his v-trigger is too good. cr.mp xx mk stomp (which is safe), deceptive visuals and a workable fireball are too good.

Use EX DG for optimal oki

His V skill I feel shud have better recovery. After hitting an opponent with 2 v skills in a row, they ALWAYS jump, but it would be nice to be able to v skill in neutral and react dp if they jump during v skill. Maybe this might be too strong, but I feel like his normals in the neutral aren;t very good for applying pressure/white damage, so v skill would be able to fill that gap if it was good enough to use at close-ish range. Then again, I guess that goes against the point of the move.

After a meaty cr. mp > mk stomp, what do you guys use as a followup after a blocked stomp? cr. mp again feels like it gets stuffed and at that point you are getting out of range. Do you go to st. HK to fish? I dunno. I agree with the no oki comment. Itā€™s hard to get stuff going. Heā€™s really good at punishing for big damage, but Iā€™m having a hard time finding ways to punish blockstrings on me too.

Donā€™t mean to be the elephant in the room. But can you guys list any changes/other stuff youā€™ve found?

I only played for about an hour or two yesterday, all I could take is that

  1. During V trigger, the charge punch requires charge, no back forward motion
  2. The target combo seems to be a bit better, cancellable to super/vtrigger. IMO was almost useless before
  3. HK stomp into delayed super works, but it mightā€™ve worked before too
  4. against gief close up, st.mp, target combo works

But yeah, could barely tell what they changed. Cr.mp into MK stomp works?? Thatā€™s quite a big change then.

EDIT: Also was his v trigger always 3 stocks? Couldā€™ve sworn it was 2 before, because I would activate it much earlier before.
Also think overhead counterhit got nerfed, the pushback is much farther from what I remember.

st. mp > target combo works on Ken close up too, for what itā€™s worth not just Gief. So probably on others too. cr. mp into MK stomp doesnā€™t work unless on counter hit or in V trigger

Youā€™re negative after stomp so Iā€™d rather not press anything. This game is a lot about taking turns lol, I feel a lot of my wins come from knowing frame data better than the opponents, so in my experience Lauras, Rashids, Necallis and Dhalsims have been pretty free.

Yeah I figured it would be like that, I know cr.lk, cr.lp HP DP is very variable depending on who you do it on, and whether they are crouching or standing. If they are standing, you either get only 1 hit of HP DP or the DP completely whiffs.

EDIT: Oh the cr.mp MK stomp works in V trigger, I knew it worked on CH but not that particular fact. Good change, to be honest the difference between regular Necalli and V trigger Necalli is not big at all. Most of the combos are exactly the same, most of the normals/moves work the same (w/ the exception of rush punch), etc. Itā€™s not like a Hakan oiled/non-oiled, so I understand a change like that.
