I don’t think it’s a matter of never being able to beat Demo in Tekken. Heck, I can beat Demo in Tekken. It’s just that Tekken is Demo’s game, so he will naturally be more successful at it, at least at first. There’s also a big difference between Tekken and most of these new games that have come out. Tekken doesn’t really have a comeback mechanic. It’s one of the most honest games you can play, really. If you don’t know your stuff, you will get raped by better players. And when I say raped, I mean RAPED. You will lose, and you will not understand why you are losing for a long, long time. It took me YEARS just to understand the basic flow of Tekken in a natural way.

So I won’t say that Jon won’t be able to beat Demo or any other established Tekken player. But to be honest Jon, if you really wanna be that guy in TTT2, you will probably have to drop every other game you are playing right now, for a while. Tekken really is a whole other beast.

and if you want to beat me CONSISTENTLY, there wont be ANY shortcuts and there will be a whole lot of players to go through before you get to me, and im not the top of the mountain at that. Tekken is an investment, no way around it. ANYBODY CAN BEAT ME ONCE, im not claiming to be unbeatable. but when and if I lose, I WILL be going to focus on that character and THAT matchup, and then youve got hell on your hands. I havent played this game for over 10 years now just to let somebody beat me and then I just accept it.

I hate that shit just as much as the next guy over. But if it’s there, I’ll use it. You won’t have anything to blame your losses on without it I guess, so that’s a pretty big downer. But I’m sure you’ll find something else to blame it on then.

Everyone seems to hold this game in such magical regard, oh this game is so tough, etc etc. It’s a video game. There’s frame data, there’s characters, you press buttons, people die. Good players will win regardless of the frame in which you put them because they’re willing to put in hard work to get where they want. Bad players will make excuses and hide behind reasons why they don’t put the work in.

I’m coming for you, inside your little happy Tekken realm, Namco players. Maybe I won’t win right away. But that day will come in time. And then, I’m going to remind you of what I’m saying right here, right now. No game is safe!

Thats the spirit!!! Then since your good now and can adapt now lets break out GGXX AC, 3rd Strike, MVC 2, KOF 98, and CVS 2, and Tekken 5 Dark Ressurection.

I played GGXXAC and was one of the better players in the state when I sucked as a player. I’d have loved to play KoF 98 when it was around, as well as CVS2, but those were before my time. There’s no point in learning those now because there’s no player base for them, but fortunately TTT2 IS coming out and it IS going to have players.

I’m not as far behind as you think. I’ve got a basis in 3D with soul calibur and I’ve dabbled in past Tekkens, just haven’t dissected them.

It is going to be rough when you don’t have wake up shinsho to mash and back throw > ultra when you’re being out played. Plus you have to learn combos in Tekken don’t you? I remember you having an aversion to those.

Im just gonna say it like this. I dont want anybody putting me on a pedestal. But dont put yourself on one either. It cant be ignored what ive accomplished in this game.Yes ive suffered my losses but ive beat EVERY player put in front of me in this state when it counted, IN TOURNAMENT. EVERY SINGLE ONE. The only exception to this is LingMassacre, who I havent played in tournament yet, but hes done so much to improve my game from where I already was. Ive also proven myself out of state.

When GG drops, people arent gonna look at Blake or Matt and forget what theyve done or what they are to that game and its scene. I would think my history with the game would afford me just a LITTLE respect. If not…its cool. Just makes it more fun to beat it into people.

I love the enthusiasm. I love the hype. I hope it stays around a month after release.
