The employees. Little did they know that my friends wife is an assistant manager of the store that held it. Well a couple days after the tournament she was working with the GM (who also entered the tournament) and a couple of the store regulars (read: local loud mouth players) came in and they were discussing organizing the next one. Well it came up in discussion as to if the guy who won the last one should come back and defend his “title” and the manager made that comment about me. Pretty much saying I had no life because I came from Wilson with my fancy joystick to a Raleigh tournament after probably sitting at home with the game and masturbating to the strategy guide. I was a cheap player only interested in using big combos and a pussy because I wouldnt fight them straight up, all I did was play keep away with Chris/Magneto. I played bitch ass characters. I couldnt win with a brawler like Wolverine or Hulk or (insert other popular character). He really didnt want to give me the gift card after I won and I shouldnt be allowed to enter the next one. Even though that night when I won it was all smiles and yeah that was awesome and how did you do such and such and whats your SN/tag/handle blah blah blah.
Shit kinda stung at first, especially given how nice I was and how much stuff I was showing people that were there. Just basic ass stuff at that. But then I thought…its THAT mentality that holds people back and I have alot planned for myself in this gaming thing. I made my biggest impact during the late T5/DR days. I got my name out there, I hit the road, I placed solid at tournaments, I learned, and above all I HAD FUN. Even if I never place in the money at a major, im gonna keep doing what im doing and eventually im gonna make waves…besides a no life fatass pro player like me has to make waves when he jumps in the water right lol.
EDIT: Off topic, but for those that got the Lords of Shadow DLC, what did you think? I was happy with it, but I 100% it in a few hours and with the way it concludes it feels like a cock-tease. I wont spoil it though, so im gonna wait for you all to respond.

Fighting against each other won’t change this. We need to travel and expose ourselves to other styles of play, rather than the ones we’re already used to fighting.
I remember when I got to Round 2 of the Gamestop SF4 tournament and I told people who asked me for my X-Box Live Name that I didn’t even own the game or even a PS3 or 360.
They called me a liar, because obviously that’s something that someone would lie about.

That’s true. I remember Ed or someone was telling me of the old days of NC and how godlike we were in SF3 and some other games around the time, I think it’d be nice if the state could return to those glory days. I guess that would definitely be how and I realize fighting each other won’t really do much but at the same time it has to do something better than sitting on xbox live/psn so it’s atleast a start.

Angus and I played Marvel for roughly 12 hours straight. Sentinel still killed teams and died to his just the same. The only change is that he only needs one instant overhead as opposed to the two that he would get anyway since Sentinel has a giant fucking head and Angus plays cheapass Dog. Drones assist, damage output, and Xfactor to kill opposing assists (the most dominating traits?) didn’t change. It’s necessary to be a bit more careful whoring out the assist, and the health change moves him from anchor to mid I think. You can kill him in one combo now just like you could prior, and more characters now have more viable opportunity to make that happen.
I literally don’t understand the fervor from the for/against; it’s not a fucking abortion debate. Yes it was a drastic health change, but in the grand scheme of the game, the change wasn’t drastic at all.

It’s no sweat. I fully intend to drive down from VA whenever there’s a tournament or gathering going down. I’ll be taking a lot of my leave days to kick it with the fighting game fam as much as possible.
