So I can’t not get the game now, seeing as how my girlfriend paid for my preorder for my birthday and it would be bad form to not accept her birthday present lol. I’m worried about how long this game can last.
For the record, this is far different than any game before it. The reason being is that we’re talking about kill combos in the negative days, and “get hit>die” is not something that has a counter outside of not getting hit, which should be part of your strategy in the first place. The last time a game had these combos found so quickly everybody in NC dropped it like a bad habit saying it was stupid, broken, and not worth playing. How exactly is MvC3 different from HnK again?
You’ve given me reasons why you don’t play Guilty or Melty too, because they’re never played, until when they are and you don’t play them because you haven’t practiced.
Last gathering at my place you were at, I was getting on the system to play GG with you and you said nah, I’m going over to SF4. Heh heh. Your posts just all look like ramblings to me because it seems like you haven’t made up your mind really.
To be fair, you only lose 33% “life” from a kill combo in MvC3 since you’ve got two more characters who probably have 100% combos of their own. So far as I know, nobody has found a team that can guarantee an unblockable into 100% on a character which was swapped in after the point character died.
Get hit 3 times -> die isn’t exactly a new thing for fighters. AH3 will remain my main game for quite a while though.
I’m going to the Walmart release tournament in West Jefferson tonight. I hope they’re not running it on a demo stand though - it would suck to not be able to use a stick.
yeah…about that last gathering…this was after I sat and played with matt for a long time. The only time I recall saying I didn’t want to play GG b/c I didn’t practice was at a tournament b/c I didn’t want to waste 5 dollars to get the crap beaten out of me in a game I didn’t practice. Money is money. I can play casuals and do that. With melty, honestly, I just got bored, and not having the game also contributed to that.
Yeah the kill combos aren’t really kill combos but it is kind of annoying dying in one easy combo. Atleast do something flashy. abc launcher abc ender land otg super KFC otg super dead… oh man i’m so good!~
Dante does seem a lot like Zero. Less mobility and maybe I guess less mixups, but his teleport is good so he doesn’t have to worry about being zoned so much.
Dormammu… I’m still convinced he can do rush down pretty well when he gets a knock down with assist cover. It worked enough last night that it’s worth trying to progress. I love that character.
Zero is kinda bleh now, I need to learn more damaging combos with him. Shouldn’t take 3 hits to someone when everyone else kills in one lol

man…you really don’t think b4 you post do you? I don’t play smash, but even I understand the reason Sakurai got pissed was b/c people were playing the game more seriously than he had intended. The whole point of the comparison was that Vs. games aren’t meant to be looked into all deeply and shit. It’s meant for a quick pick-up and have fun time.
I’m just gonna assume NC is always like this when a new big game comes out.

It might have been said before but I have no idea why everyone is totally different at gatherings or tournaments but on the forums all we do is bitch and then we do discuss it doesn’t last all that long. Play what games you want to play, don’t play a game because everyone else is doing it. Competitively though, mad respect for you people who are like this game and this game and that’s it. Focusing on a few games seriously is definitely the way to go.
All we do is bitch on the forums because the bitchers are the people that never come out.

We’ve had like maybe 50 of these crappy, al pacino, ‘‘any given sunday’’, ‘‘just play games’’ posts and none of them ever amounted to anything. Give it up, NC thread will always be a fucking cesspit, learn to love it and embrace it.
