I still have and play the SvC: MotM on Neo Geo Pocket.
Only problem, I don’t have a Link Cable…I’ve NEVER been able to find one. If I did, I’d be playing against people in Card Fighters Clash and MotM all the time.

I remember Gief was too fucking good in that game.
My Rush Ken and Chun are pretty broken in their own right though. That whole game is pretty broken. Everyone can do massive damage for free.
And yeah, if I show up again, I can try to get a couple of link cables.
I’ve never even played the game against a human opponent. I wonder if I’m any good.
Im not saying Tekken should be a minor/free but I will say that it was sorely disappointing to drive all that way and then not even have 10 guys who wanted to play. Just in the casuals we played there were guys who were halfway decent just using 5.0 tactics but couldnt get it through their brains that this was a new game and refused to play in the DR tourny for lack of exposure to the new moves and such. Dare I say it kinda pissed me off. People want to play for free but not participate in the tournament? It pissed me off b/c 1. very few people even looked at the game without scoffing and 2. it MAINLY pissed me off b/c the NC Tekken community cant even show up for local tournaments. First there was NCSU and then this one. Everyone isnt that broke that they cant put aside $5 or $10 to support the scene/showcase the new game. If we had more heads I would have even loved to just have run the tournament for free. Had I known it was gonna turn out like this I would have just kept the PS3 in the car and put my $10 in to play the 3S tourny (a game I love) but I was too late for that. I do still intend to come to these but my focus will mainly be on whats there that I want to play.
As far as VF5 goes…I had it with me the WHOLE time and only ONE person showed interest.

Part of me is glad I didn’t show up then, but then again, part of me is embarrassed, especially if there are 8 other VF5 players that didn’t show for the same reason.
You are the man for making the effort. Keep me posted on the T5:DR. I will dl the game this week, and see how my chars have stood the test of time. Another one where I stopped around three. I had actually entered a local tourney here in Raleigh so many years ago. A local gaming shop in Falls Village held a tourney, won by a guy named Jimmy, I think. Asian dude that I used to play at Starcade back in the T3 days. Think I made it to the quarter finals or something.
Didn’t even see a VF5 section for NC on virtuafighter.com forums. Alot of SoVa players though, in the VA/MD/DC thread. Maybe I can spread the word there.
And I do feel a little blasphemos, talking so much Tekken and VF on a site named shoryuken… I’d definitely join a 2D tourney, just for support.
The Evil Characters should be banned…but Zangief still the BEAST OF BEASTS in that game.
If I had actually known it was there I would have played. I didn’t see a PS3 there when I arrived and I only saw one later when it was used for T5DR so I assumed that was the only game people brought.

Actually, nevermind. I just remembered I’m having a friend visit next weekend.
I’ll play tekken no prob for the 6/16 tourney, and I’ll even try to bring a few of my buds(even though I’m the only good one amongst them). I’ll try (RE: try) to advertise this tourney on TZ yet again.

You run VF5 I’ll give it a shot. Doubt I’ll do much, but I might be able to beat a random scrub or two- I’d recommend starting it as a $1 tourney though to see if you get people to try it

once I get a PS3 for myself I guess I’ll be able to prove how much I really wanna play Kazuya in tournies if you don’t believe me…but I gotta dig myself about 1k outta debt then another 600 up to get a PS3, so I guess it’ll take a lil’ bit of time…but I’ll be playing Tekken DR before Tekken 6 drops. So maybe you, Victory Blows and myself will be able to travel and rep NC Tekken on the east coast. You just gotta get up w/ me and play. I know I’m not all that great now, but if you don’t teach the people that really wanna learn the game and you KNOW I’ll travel to tournies (ATL: Final Round, Maryland, VA tournies, and all the other places I went for SC3 competition). Don’t get pissed at the Tekken heads that won’t travel, just find new ones that will.
I picked up 2D months ago, just cuz:
-I couldn’t find any SC3 competition outside of Ceron and longshot.
-I don’t own a PS3 for VF5 and DR
-And even though I have a 360, I am NOT playing DoA4 competitvely
But you know I prefer 3D.
