Nash General Thread: Charlie (Nash) finally revealed!

Yea his buttons have some serious range. He has good walk speed as well, but he doesnt’t do too much damage without meter unless he can land an elbow, and his lk tackle doesn’t knockdown, which is his goto ender most times. And since he plays a keep away game, similiar to nash, nash gets him because of his sheer mobility and ability to absorb his fireballs

in a mirror nash match.
what is the best way to get out of the corner loop without v-reversal? neutral jump?

i think he is like nash that you can play both, keepaway and midrange rushdown. the majority of people online right now try to do the fireball game but that of course doesnt work. they have to go in as urien against nash.

Even without the tech, I love playing an entirely neutral/zoning character. The problem is that the sfv engine totally discourages that style of play.

i think nash needs just some tweaks to make him able to really play a keepaway game against the whole cast. and he needs some tools to get people off of him.

some faster startup time for his hk sonic scythe would be nice so that you can
use it as a anti air for the whole cast. ex version should be fully invincible so that you
can use it as a get of me tools against laura/mika/alex/necalli on wakeup or at least to make
it a treath so that they can just pressure you without consequences. one knockdown and you are free.

which is one of the reasons why i learn necalli now.

some other tweaks i would like to see.
tr-assault should count as a overhead on crouchers
and some better frames on at least one of em to be able to really jump over fireballs would be nice.
right now you have to guess and cant really react to one…at least i cant.
his ex sonic boom, the first one should hit twice too.

If they did this , they would have to nerf his offense. Which would just make him another Guile. He is very unique the way he is right now.

Tbh I just want fully invincible EX SS.

that would be enough i guess but why not asking for more :stuck_out_tongue:

How do you all feel Nash is effected by the drop in input lag?

My friend seems to think it’ll make a big change because he feels Nash wont be able to dash in throw as easily.

I feel it wont matter at all because the character is so solid and can throw so much at you. You cannot possiby be able to react to all dash throws because you risk getting hit by a CC F+Hp or booms or jump in even.

Dash in throw isn’t even a necessity

Dash up throw is the kind of thing that will get an opponent once hes been conditioned to block and not flinch and press a button. At that point the input lag doesn’t really matter.

Appomo, its really weird that you are learning necalli, because ive been contemplating picking him up as well. He has it all I think: Strong trigger, 3 f jabs both crouching an standing, dp, heavy damage, decent range, command grab; necalli is a monster.

I totally agree with you as well, that Nash has some blaring weaknesses. I’m not saying that he isn’t fine the way he is, because i think giving him an invincible reversal will definitely make him too strong and so too might a fast HK SS, but this game is so rush down heavy that it feels like those characters just have too much of an advantage. The whole shimmy/delay/throw conundrum is just really strong in sfv and offensive characters with fast walk speeds can get in just as fast as nash can slither away. You have to poke to keep them out, and the risk reward of doing so is in their favour as all they need to do is score a knockdown. I’ll never drop Nash, but I think his time has come and gone, and as the game evolves, other characters would highlight his weaknesses more and more. We’ll just have to out think them.

to be honest i am kinda lazy the last weeks so i did not really got into him much more but i still want to learn nec.
but i agree. he is at least for now a very good offensive char with enough tools to get rid of people who want to rush him down.

i do not want to switch completely but i think he is a nice addition for certain matchups while nash covers some where he has more struggle.

i dont think a ex-only invincible would make him to strong since it cost him a bar which you can build up quick but other chars have them for free.
but at the end its just my opinion and we have to see how capcom handles the game with the hopefully this year appearing balance changes.

nah man with an ex invincible he will be crazy. it’s already hard to keep him contained because of his v system. add an extra wakeup option for him and it just wouldn’t be fair

Who do you guys think who has the best nash of the moment? Yukadon nash seems better than infiltration these days but that might have to do with everyone getting used to nash and infiltration playing more than 1 character.

bonchan.

then they should give him a 3 frame jab…

but then they would have to reduce its range, lol

whats with the range of his jab?

Have you seen how much range and priority Chun-li has with her crouching jab?

It’s very difficult to justify a character having a 3-frame jab or not. For grapplers I kinda see the logic…but I dunno what kinda decision-making process they went through with some of the characters like Chun…Mika…etc

Chun is obviously super strong. Trying to compare her to the rest of the cast is like apples apples and oranges. That st. Lk is too too good. Necalli having a 3 frame crouching and standing also blows my mind

made one final vid of this year today, all the best wishes for 2017 @ll

Hi guys, just wondering if I’m the only one who noticed that Nash is undead in season 2, all these nerfs that he got, I can’t see a good way to play him now.
