Who cares about characters, I would rather have 1 good character than a ton of crap clones and charge characters, though cool or kick ass characters would be nice. Is the game play better than the other Naruto game? Though which characters could we expect? I got my most wins in Naruto rise of a ninja with Haku and Zabuza in broken bond.

With the exception of a few moves, NBB was pretty good.

From just looks can’t say but NUNS looks like some dragon ball z game, not the good one either.

um everyone who’s a Naruto fan and fan of different character designs likes the characters and want more of them if possible, even if some play similiar. NUNS system gameplay is far better than broken bond.

NUNS2 will have a slightly modified version of NUNS system, it looks mostly the same, which is a great thing! NUNS has the most exciting and fun action that deep enough for advanced play but also a fair learning curve to pick up and play too!

Replacement justu is too cheap in this game. The way me and my friends play is basically: as soon as someone attacks you whether you are being hit or not, just mash teleport and as soon as you get behind them, grab for free damage. There is an element of strategy but you shouldn’t be able to teleport out of being hit.

EDIT: Ultimate techniques with atrocious start-up need to be unblockable or at least combo-able because they are too easy to block.

From my experience, it’s very hit or miss (Usually “miss”). I couldn’t, for the life of me, find anything good about the UNS system besides the neat fluidity that went along with the graphics. So many broken aspects and just kinda lame fundamentals didn’t make it very good. I have a soft spot for these 3D arena type fighters, though. I love me some Virtual On.

I did have a bit of fun with the 2D Wii version, Clash of Ninja Rev III, but that fell back on some cozy 2D gameplay that I was instantly familiar with. In that game, I saw some potential. UNS, on the other hand, felt very unclean. Balance obviously takes a back-seat in games like this. I’m sure they didn’t go about developing it with making a fighting game as their top priority. It kind of suffers from the same developer mindset that banished Smash Brothers to “Party Game” status.

Generally, I really hate the Substitution Jutsu system. It really messes up gameplay flow. Obviously you’re going to use it to get out of big combos, but if you do, you can’t do any damage later because you’ve spent your Chakra. Loop this a couple times and you can have all the Chakra for both sides gone in a single half-second altercation which, in my own opinion, makes it a broken feature.

I dunno if they could fix it with a timer-based system for Substitutions, but something needs to change. Maybe a counter-hit system that will stop players from simply being able to Jutsu out of everything. They just need to fix it, and it doesn’t look like they’re going to get into the nitty gritty of the issues to do so. It’s not that kind of title.

Put priority and budget towards making it as a semi-passable fighting game. Clash of Ninja Rev III did it, and I actually saw it at a couple of gaming tourneys.

Anyways, I have mad respect to the developers, simply due to the level of tech that they’re putting into their cel-shading engine. I was always a big fan of their .HACK games back in the day. I’m hoping they do one for the current generation of consoles using the Ninja Storm engine. I could see a pretty fan-fucking-tastic Action/RPG built with this thing.

Yeah if someone was attacking you and you used substitution there’s a good chance they will be stuck in attack animation and this allows you to get a free grab for solid damage. Or you could just throw an explosive tag in their back.

OP, I think you’re missing the point. We don’t give a flying fuck about network play or all the fancy features they’re offering us. We care about gameplay. Not that it’s fun, or balanced, but that it’s deep enough to be competitively viable (of course balance does matter in this, but a shallow balanced game is worthless).
