I don’t think we’re confused. I think that people are thinking it’s stupid and that the logic of the action doesn’t hold up.

I don’t think it was the 4th honestly. I think it’s Madara. Frankly Tobi seems smarter now than when he fought the 4th to be honest.
That whole Kyuubi attack seemed way to casual as in he underestimated the shit out of Minato. Why run straight at a another space time user?

My bet would be that itachi would have to pull out Susano and go for the OHKO with the sword seal. Aside from that, that illusion ish doesn’t even work on everyone. He looked Madara in the face, knowing he could be whom he thought he was, without fear of anything pertaining to a sharingan. Itachi has that fire clone, but I doubt Minato is scared of pew pew shit, and he’s to fast for anything else Itachi demonstrated.
My point exactly. Theres no reason to assume he couldn’t be gengutsu’d to hell. Jaraiya likes to stare at Sharingan users too and he didn’t even know what Amataresu was. No reason to believe Minato knows what Tsukiyomi is. I see Minato running at Itachi and being dropped like a brick.
Which was mine too. There is nothing saying that it would work. It’s probably common knowledge for someone like him (Hokage) to know about Madara (who was probably the strongest one) and the eye nonsense that the Uchiha’s are capable of, especially since he runs a village full of them.
If it did work, well there you go. If it didn’t then Itachi doesn’t have many options. Long range isn’t going to cut it, because Minato can space time that shit or simply teleport somewhere to catch a nap, and come back when it’s done. Up close isn’t even an option, because he’s the fastest ninja demonstrated, thus far, and one hit guarantees a seal placed on you, so he can teleport or do whatever else he wants. Then he has his summons as back-up and whatever other seal he knows. I really don’t see Itachi pulling the same ish on Minato that he did Kikashi or even Sasuke.
Jaraiya his teacher, didn’t know what Amaterasu was. By your logic theres no reason why anyone who’s a Kage should fall for anything. Keep in mind that the Mangekyou was NOT common among the Uchiha. In fact they even kept that shit secret (see hidden tablet.) Don’t presume Minato can beat everything just because of his S/T jutsu.
Case in point knowing about something doesn’t mean you can beat it. Madara knew about the flying thunder god technique and WAIT he fell for the most straight forward application of it. Bleh. Also Minato may do something stupid like not instantly killing itachi (like he didn’t do to Madara, problem solved) or Flying Thunder Godding into a exploding Bushin Or Or Or Or Or…the list goes on and on. This isn’t even counting Susanno.
Remember Itachi is very observant as well, unless the Kunai are already planted near him. Itachi will likely deflect any Kunai thrown at him mid flight.
I’m not giving Minato powers just because. Until further notice the most proficient Genjutsu character mercs him at a blink. The only person so far he doesn’t Merc with a blink is his little brother and Jaraiya. Both whom he had no intention to kill. Just don’t look at his eyes? How about a finger?

Itachi will blink yo shit. He’ll make Minato think he can teleport behind him causing him to teleport into a tree and die instantly.

Except we have no clue how well Minato handles genjutsu so it’s THEORY FIGHTAAAAAA until shown otherwise.
You also have no idea how Konohomaru will handle Genjutsu, yet we can assume he’ll get merc’d as well. Any super Genjutsu defense he might have will be straight pulled out of his ass. At least you can link Hiraishin to Jaraiya somewhat since all those summons Jaraiya does are space/time jutsu. Jaraiya who says he sucks at Genjutsu and is his teacher. Orochimaru who’s supposed to be good at Genjutsu got merc’d. Is there any reason why a guy known for S/T jutsus is suddenly able to resist the greatest Genjutsu master so far? The greatest marksman in the world can still be beaten in pool by the greatest pool player.
Nothing points to Minato being a genjutsu type. None. What has genjutsu done to people who aren’t genjutsu types? Owned them until they did self inflicting damage or dispelled it. We’ve seen how successful that shit is to Itachi.
His hype is way over done. Next people will say they’ve never seen Minato stabbed so OBVIOUSLY we don’t know if he really bleeds! We don’t know how he’ll deal with being stabbed.
Pew Pew powers have been proven time and time again, to either not work against or at the very least, make things a little easier, against people who are nice (Hokage type folks). Going by your logic, Madara should have beaten the 1st when they fought, since he was the one with the God Eyes at max power, and Sasuke could have rolled into the Hokage meeting and Genjutsu’d the entire room. Having pew pew lasers doesn’t make everyone free, and I definitely don’t see it happening to the guy whom beat/tied with the ultimate uchiha.
Gimped Ultimate Uchiha who lost to Plot Induced Stupidity. Point to me an instance where Itachis Genjutsu has failed? How many times has Sasukes who pales in comparison. Actually Madara may have been the most powerful Uchiha ever but that doesn’t mean he’s the most talented. After the fight with Minato he’s an idiot battle sense wise.
Again…CHAINS against a guy that can teleport? CHAINS!!! They aren’t even super you can’t use your jutsu chains. Just fucking chains!
i think setting dictates the outcome. Round 1 fight type scenario where they square off, minato loses. Drop them in a jungle at opposite ends of it , minato probably wins it.
Frankly being in Konoha or anywhere Minato has had time to put strategic tags around gives him a big advantage. It’s like Gaara in the dessert or worse. However not that big as characters in this manga make retarded observations all the time. (Sakura being able to read Sasoris movements by his fingers/Shikamaru reading Tatuyas fingers from like 70 yards away while behind trees) Granted with no knowledge of it most people should be dead without tanking ability.
Don’t forget he also swallowed Itachi’s crow…
