The one thing I think we’ve all overlooked for months now: Madara hasn’t even used his EMS yet. All of this is with his normal sharingan. He has to have more tricks up his sleeve.

He traded a lifetime of raising his boy, dealing with his responsibility to be hokage knowing that there’d likely be another attack from madara, and the general chance to make sure naruto was ridiculous so that he and his wife could see naruto one time each? Kushina couldn’t have used the sealing technique she was planning on using to seal the 9 tails in herself for naruto to make him the "destined jinchuuriki?

Truth. I’m convinced that with all the exposure Hiraishin’s been getting in this flashback, Naruto’s going to eventually get it. It’s something he’s going to need for Madara’s Jikuukan Ninjutsu.
His profile in the 3rd Databook mentions that while the Mangekyou Sharingan is his greatest weapon, he’s never used it(kinda indirectly confirms that his Jikuukan Ninjutsu, while clearly having some link to his eye(s), isn’t a Mangekyou Sharingan technique). Probably one of the biggest, if not the sole reason he claims that his power has greatly diminished at the Kage Summit.
It’s odd though, Itachi claimed that his douryoku was still intact… But hey, it wouldn’t be the first time Kishimoto contradicted himself with small details.
the way minato handled madara reminded me of how kakashi rolls, it’s too bad kakashi’s sharingan is so taxing on him, he would of been close to being the next minato
It’s a plot device. We know what Madara’s EMS looks like. He’s not using it because it will confirm whether he’s actually Madara or not.
Can we rule out Madara being Obito? He wouldn’t have been old enough to do all this shit.
I interpreted it as Kushina was already tethered to the 9 tails so she could just drag it back inside or possibly that it was just easier for her to use a seal since she already had it. I didn’t like the 4th’s plan at all for the reasons you mentioned though, he threw away a lot gambling on his half day old son’s destiny when had he lived he could have stayed and made sure events didn’t come to pass himself.

No, the fourth died for a reason. If he didn’t take the 9T with him, then that portion of the 9T would ‘reform’ later on, you can kill a tailed beast, but it comes back randomly at anolther time (forgot when/where that was mentioned)…him giving NAruto half the chakra, and then taking the other part with him, means that the 9T wouldn’t respawn somewhere in the future and give Madara a chance to renew his attack. In essence it was a counter measure to REALLY shut Madara’s plans down - see his thoughts on Madara and him being a long term threat.
I’m still confused on the EMS bit…assuming he has it - the whole point is that he has infinite use of it…its no longer “z0mg blind!!!”, so when he’s finally working on getting his revenge, why NOT use your most potent weapon to make sure it goes off without a hitch? Going against a SINGLE person who’s that fast…wouldn’t the most effective strat be to phase and just hit him with a genjutsu? Bewing able to phase and use genjutsu at the same time would be ridiculously broken. It has to be a plot device at this point, its not really Madara, and the fact that we ALWAYS see him using the sharrigan makes me think that that eye is actually a transplant…he stole that shikt from the real Madara upon his death bed.
Man, I got to give Kishi more credit…he found a way to give Naruto access to even MORE hacks…first we have the chakra pool, then we have the clone spam, then we get rasengan, then we add elements, then we add sage mode, then we add the pitch for rasengan, we just unlocked more chakra, now we see he is extremely durable because of his mom’s genes, should have access to the chains which can hold down a tailed beast, is being foreshadowed that he’ll up his sealing techs and learn the thundergod tech…I mean DAMN…is there a cieling? And dude hasn’t even gone reading to learn more jutsus using his broken training techs…

He had to figure out that Naruto was the 9 tail eventually. Why not just merc Naruto when he was a kid?

There was no original plan by Minato to make NAruto the next jinchurriki. They had been females and more than likely were going to stay that way. The big mistake that Madara made was acting as though his ‘tricks’ would prevent him from having to fight the fourth, and if he KNEW he’d fight the fourth and possibly the third after that, he should have studied up on him a bit more, maybe tested his waters before with fodder-nin as opposed to going in solo. The MOST important part of a good plan is the escape…

If that were true, wouldn’t Madara’s 10 tail plan be rendered moot? He’d have 8.5 tailed beasts to combine, which wouldn’t add up. Either that, or Minato wrongly believed that sealing .5 would limit Madara’s plans even though it wouldn’t b/c taking the half that naruto has would be enough (unless, of course, madara found a way to get the .5 that minato had sealed into himself). The likelihood of the last scenario seems low though. It still seems to me as though sacd himself for nothing.
Minato sealed half of the 9 tails chakra in himself to shut down Madara’s plans… I thought the tailed beast were nothing but unlimited chakra monsters anyway. Madara could have ripped that .5 out of Naruto and gotten the now reformed Kyuubi all the same and kept right on wrecking havoc . Seems like all the 4th really did was buy time so the next generation would have to deal with the coming catastrophe while he rotted in the ground. My biggest beef with this is that he had a high suspicion he just met the end boss who he even calls by name but then the best plan he could come up with is to kill himself weakening the village overall and having "faith " in his son. Fucking A at least say hey I think I met Uchiha Madara over there to somebody first.
That’s because it was all blind faith. Jesus complex stuff. Madara the planners, plans, shouldn’t take very long to be planned at all to be honest especially when it comes to the 9 tailed fox. Don’t you think Madara should have been a LITTLE curious as to how Minato was going to deal with the beast? Sure he was injured, but THAT injured? Really? It’s the old villian symptom. Sasori uses Statetsu which he tells Grandma in unavoidable. When her two options to stop it are busted what does he do? Switches to GIANT BLOCKS!
Madara was a fool throughout the fight actually, there’s more plot induced stupidity there than the law allows. Kishi should be locked up. You’d think that Madara would have had some intelligence on the 4th and AT THE LEAST KNOWN HE COULDN’T CATCH HIM WITH CHAINS!
