So I think I’ll bring a laptop for EMU play. I have an old laptop that is powerful enough for FBA/MAME and prolly MB:AC. It only has a 14" screen, I have a 19" lcd monitor i could bring, but it’s a real pos. I have some 2.1 speakers I can bring, along with a powered USB 2.0 hub. So if anyone wants to bring a bigger monitor, like a nice 20" lcd, that would be great.
So I guess I’ll be bringing my 14" TV, Dreamcast and games, modded PS2 with games, laptop, speakers, hub, and HDMI cables.
If people want to bring X360’s for casual play in games, do so, that way I can use my X360 TE stick on something more then EMU’s.
Mario: I think it would be smart to let SF4 and HDR tourney’s to run on X360 also. Not as default, but if 2 people are up for a tourney match, and they both have X360 sticks with them, it’s silly to make them wait on a PS3 machine when they could just play the match on a X360.
SF4 on Box = lulz
SF4 on Triple = Win
Jason-Whatever is available is what folks will play on. If they have an ps3 stick and don’t want to play on a 360 then they can pass until a triple is open.
Marvel Super Heroes anyone?
Odds are there will be little time or availability for mystery tourneys. Might be lucky to get one in. Since it’s the theatre room, I might try to get the finals of the biggest game there on the projector.
So this old laptop isn’t powerful enough to run MAME, at least not 0.128. But it runs FBA just fine. Also no MB:AC. So i’ll still bring it, unless someone wants to bring a better one for KI and such.
I am planning to get at least 16 players, with the high side being 32 if I can put some ‘Jinmaster Charm’ on the event.
Furthermore, would SC4 have to supply their own TV’s, or will the venue have 1 or 2 we can use?
Lastly, Indy posted, but disregarded confirming the SC4 portion of the event. Can you make a point to contact him, and asking him to post a confirmation. If not professional, then at least just being respectful.
Jinmaster.
My laptop can run MAME no problem Ill bring… jsut my speakers are jacked… soo… if anyone has external speakers bring them…
MAME game requests? Say them now so I can donwload and make sure they work.
I have the entire MAME 0.128 rom set, along with KI1 and KI2 CHD’s.
I have a new laptop that can run everything. But it’s my only PC, if something happened to it, I’d be SOL.
If you’ve got the people and we’ve got the space you may run a SC4 tourney. If you need any help running it, I will be willing to help out. I would prefer that you guys could supply some setups for it but its looking like we’ll have a ton of ps3 setups so things are looking good though bear in mind that SFIV will be getting quite a few stations.
The reason I didn’t respond was because I didn’t have a different opinion than Riot Guard’s and since we are both running the event together, his opinion carries the same weight as my own. I hope that clears it up and my apologies if I seemed rude.
I could help in running the SC tourney… I can bring my copy of SC… but My setup is gonna be use for SF4 so…
Hey, once you have an idea of the pre-regs from the SC forums send me the list so I can add it here or post the link.
I realy don’t know about sc4 at this tournament but why not give it a shot. if there is one, see you in the finals jinmaster. Most of the people that play in illinois and wisconsin that are even willing to travel more than an hour are going to go to the tournament the same day in wisconsin for sc4 and tekken 6 (br?)
SC is going to be tricky with SF:HD and SFIV both occupying a lot of consoles and the space in that place. Not saying it couldn’t/shouldn’t happen but I’m guessing it would end up having to start pretty late.
Do you guys have an idea of an optimistic schedule? Cos there is a LOT to run through with three new Capcom games, plus the mainstays. Also, do you guys have a rough Playstation 3 count right now (plus converters hopefully)? I’m sure you guys could do one.
A lot of people have a ps3 or 360 compatible stick or converter by now. Otherwise, they will just have to borrow someone else’s since it’s byoc. We’re not providing any converters or sticks. I have a ps3 ready stick that people can use but that’s it. One of the tourneys had smash, so SC would just replace that which would be ran by Jinmaster. The setups we currently have will be used for the original lineup Any other setups allocated to SC will be provided by SC participants or Jinmaster. The original lineup is our priority.
In all likelihood GG or CV2 will get cut because there are so few participants. No point in a tourney for 3-5 people. They can just have money matches or something.
As far as the schedule, it will have to be more rigid than last time. If TVC starts for example at one but 4 or 5 people preregistered show up an hour late then we won’t wait like last time.
well Ill make sure I see you or jinmaster in the finals than… just for that : )
So far we have 4 ps3’s but that is dependent on those players showing up. Marvel and 3s will be no problem. There should be atleast 4 setups for Marvel.
If anyone has an 360 and wants to bring it that could be added to the arsenal and used for those with a 360 preference.
Sounds good! I just posted the SC4 tournament
