Naptown Clash II: New Generation's Giant Attack! Gameworks, Indianapolis. 2/21/2009

actually your wrong , you can go to any stores… that are official round 2 spots and enter. You just have to bring the certificate from the first round results to the round 2 store. I read this on the website.

Take me outta TvC

Take me out of TVC as well lol. I haven’t been able to get it working, so I’ve had 0 practice on it. More $ for MM’s I guess :clown:

Where does it say this? I just checked and couldn’t find anything that said you can go to any store.

I got all this from the official rules.

ROUND 1 STORE COMPETITION
ROUND 2 DISTRICT COMPETITION
ROUND 3 REGIONAL FINALISTS

Under round 1 it reads:

And under Round 2:

Round 3:

And then on the round 2 Tournament list it reads:

And finally the round 3 tournament list:

The only thing that says you can choose your store is round 1, at least from what I could find. Every other round says you have to go to designated stores.

Only rounds 1 and 2 can be done at any store.

It says getting to “One of the 288 spots” which Im sure they mean taking your proof of winning in round one to one of the round 2 areas.

But as I read… they say two completely different things. On the Round 2 store list at the top( in the PDF for round 2). They say a “designated area” but in the description you just showed me, it says “get to one of the 288”…

So now I am confused. :wasted:

I’m fairly certain that you have to stay within your district for round 2. If not, why have districts at all? They are not saying that you get to choose which one of the 288 stores that are in round 2, just that you have to pay your way to get there if your round 1 store is far away.

They are just saying that they won’t be paying your gas money to drive to your district store, because GS has stores in really small towns so you might have to drive 30-45min to get to the round 2 store. Where ever you win round 1, you have to stay in that district for round 2. I’m 99.9% sure.

seein as how this is at a gameworks and i know shit gets stolen pretty easy at a tourny with the public movin in and out a lot i was just wondering if im gonna be bringin all the shit you guys want me to im gonna want to put my 360 and my wii right next to each other so i can keep a better eye on my shit. so i know this might be a strange question but is there anyway you guys can set aside 2 spots for tvs right next to each other for us cincy guys cuz if not im just gonna bring 1 system and 1 tv and it would be up to you guys which one i bring my wii for tvc or 360 for hd/sf4. but if i can get 2 spots next to each other ill still bring both. either way i dont care.

I’ll be marking all of my stuff with my name on it so I know it’s mine.
I also think it’ll be pretty hard to steal a console from a tourney, but not impossible.

Last Naptown Clash nothing got stolen. Hopefully this will be a repeat performance.

lol , ask the guy at seasons 2… his PS3 magically got up and walked from just some normal customers.

Before the SRK squad caught the guy outside and were about to give him a SRK beatdown.

On the topic of theft, I would say at least half of the tourneys I’ve been to something has gotten stolen. I remember SBII and the guy that got his PS3 stolen, super nice guy and he was trusting enough to let people use it, I heard the thief tried to get smart too .Happened at Final Round too but Detroit wasn’t having it and the stolen controller found it’s way back to the area it was taken from. The tourney will take place in a closed room. No one from the outside is allowed to come in without being a participant in the tourney. No more spectators, they can watch people play Afterburner out in the arcade.

Everyone mark your stuff. That’s why this is a BYOC event too. If I catch someone stealing I will forfeit my time to play in the tourney to call security and press charges. Personally, I’ve never had anything stolen at a tourney and I’ve been to major’s and medium sized tourneys.

No games will be removed from the systems without notifying the owner or one of the organizers.

I feel alot safer after that post Riot Guard.

And I don’t expect SFIV to be removed from my PS3 for a looooooooooooooooooooong time.

Mario layin that law down!

justin (napple)
indianapolis
street fighter 2,3,and4
i can bring a tv, ps2, and 3rd strike

ok but still even with these safety measures in place id still worry my ass off and not have as much(if any) fun cuz i dont have the money to replace anything if it does get stolen. i dont have a problem bringing a lot of stuff i just want it all together if not then im just not gonna bring it all. so you guys just let me know if ill have enough room for all my shit to be kept together or if i should just bring one system and one tv and which system i should bring. im cool with either.

I got an idea of how to organize it. I’m thinking of having the same systems grouped together in one area. That way if something gets changed everyone will notice. The venue is a tiered theatre room without the standard seats so tables chairs can be moved about.

Word of advice, never leave your converter out of sight. I lost a Pelican converter thanks to that. We will do our absolute best to minimize theft and I’ll be close to the door throughout most of the event so they won’t get by me without a cardboard box. Lastly, DO NOT try and take things into your own hands by laying the smack down on any thieves. Satisfying though it may be, there is a cop at Gameworks at all times for a reason.

If you guys could, please remove me from 3s. Thanks.

any one going to this want to get some games on before hand on psn??? in sf4 or hd remix, add me plz

still not 100% on comin, but going to try. If I come I’ll also be playing HD and SFIV.

I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be there for IV and HDR (Edit: Oh, WTF, CvS2 too). Since I’ll be ridin’ with geon, why not?

I’m probably going to want to use a converter for PS3 (not sure I’ll be able to get one in time).

Also, I voted on both playable characters allowed. Jury’s still out on Akuma in HDR and nobody’s really gotten to try Seth yet, but from vids it looks like he takes damage like a pussy and has to work hard to get the win.

If HDR ends up being a ‘pick Akuma or lose’ situation, like it was with ST, then I could see a ban being warranted. Until that point, though… I see it as just getting paranoid.
