It would never work, the mechanics of both series’ are too different.
Yeah, it is being made by Namco (and martin knew that already, but used that excuse to try and justify the thread) so this…
= double stupid.
Anyways yeah its being made by Namco just like that POV Code Veronica was, which was made by Capcom just giving Namco the CV engine and Namco combining it with their Time Crisis tech.
Game companies dont usualy ever work together on a crossover because they can never agree on anything, like the first Capcom VS SNK game started out being devloped by both companies, and it was taking FOREVER cause they couldnt agree on how the game should look, play, etc, etc, then SNK had financial troubles which caused them to back out, so Capcom took over, but then eventually SNK got their chance to make the game they wanted it.
The only games I know of that are/were being co-developed was Kigdome Hearts 1&2 (50 Disney animators or whatever were part of the team) and the upcoming Sammy Vs Capcom is the sameway basicly (half the team are Capcom employees)

over 200 characters from Namco and Capcom! it’s fantastic
- Nihon Keizei Shimbun paper reported that Namco expects to have a sales of 500,000 units for its crossover simulation RPG title Namco x Cacpcom, the game will be released in May.
i am waiting for it!
Love
I like the concept but the graphics??? It looks more like GBA game… I guess we’ll have 2 wait till the game ships…
…
I just don’t see this as a justifiable compensation for lack of a 2-D fighting game. I know Capcom won’t make another SF 2-D game but, I just think its slap to the face for them to not only NOT make a good LAST 2-D fighting game but then to allude to “Sammy vs Capcom”, only to get a “simulated RPG”? This only provides me another reason to purchase an artbook. The Art department from Capcom and Namco are extremely talented and I would end up getting an artbook from the game, and thats it.

Capcom is not making this game nor do they have anything to do with it. They loaned their characters out. That’s it. No conspiracy. Sammy vs. Capcom is another story entirly. They can’t fake a press conference with Sammy Employees that announced Sammy vs. Capcom (which is what happened) just to psyke the public out where Sammy would have nothing to gain from it. We don’t know what’s up with Sammy vs. Capcom due to lack of official announcements from either side. We can speculate, but speculation is no comparison to an official announcement.

This game came about because Namco wanted to do something big for their 50th Anniversary (they’ve been around longer than video games, like Nintendo, they used to make toys) and they could only come up with 100 Namco characters so they used this oppurtunity to get closer to Capcom, and Capcom allowed them to use their characters. Capcom actually performed a friendly gesture towards Namco.

Yeah, that’s all we got. Fake pics and cosplayers!
Special thanks to Shingo the One AKA Snkneogeoshingo for this! Here’s another link with some new pics but unfortunatly, a direct link doesn’t work, you’ll have to type it out.

Those costoms are werid looking though. Like what if people really looked like anime characters. They must be sweating like crazy.
its like what some of you guys are saying. A vs could happen if the companies would work together. Just like what SNK and capcom did. Just make an agreement and sign a contract that each company would make a game. And if you really think about it its not that hard to get together. Capcom would just make a 2D fighter thats really just street fighter vs. Tekken and all they would have to do is make the 2D sprites and change the moves around alittle to work with the street fighters. Then Namco would just make a 3D game making the SF’s 3D and changing around there moves to work with the tekken characters.
Its really simple if you think about it. Also just for the record, this is just ideas. I already know Capcom sold SF rights to the US and both Capcom and Tekken’s systems are different. WHO GIVES A RATS ASS! Its just a what if.
Hell Yeah!!!
Yeah, I totally agree. :badboy: I wish most people had that sort of attitude. I really don’t give a shit about what can go "wrong"
Marvel vs Street fighter can happen then why not “Namco”?
I’m not going to get pissed off on how many bad things can happen.
We’re all better off looking foward to the good things that can happen :encore:
Morrigan has a new sprite, maybe people will stop talking about that now
I wish I couls see it, but the buffering takes for ever and it stops at 5% with Windows Media Player (I have no other player.
Nevermind, I got it working! It’s cool! I love how Karin and Sakura will team up. And how Hideo and Kyoko are in it too. WTF is with T. Bonne and the baby thing doing in there? I guess there is a story for them too.
looks neato…how does this game work? the only rpg’s i had ever played were the final fantasy kind. can you pick which characters to team up in a attack or you can only use some characters at certain intervals in the game?
Considering the folks behind the game, surely it can’t be that crap…then again…stuff happens…I’m still up for it.
Capcom Vs Namco
Yeah, I wonder if there’s going to be another 3d game with SF characters.
I would love to see namco do this.
