Namco Stick Appreciation!

i will trade my vshg for 2 namco stick.

ok im going to gut one namco and try dual mod it.

ohohohohoohohohohooh. cant wait to just do it.

If you’re thinking of putting a xbox360 pcb in there you might be short on space :S

not if i cut some plastic off. i was looking inside the case and there is space. i cant believe no one has tried this yet.

Oh yeah that’s true. The round plastic parts if cut off should provide enough room. Pics when you’re done please

as much as i wish i could mod either the namco or vshg i cant do it, I would love to wireless the vshg.

sweet u give me great idea. I will mod my second vshg ps3 wireless.

cool, i wirelessed my TE but there are a million and one TEs. On the other I only have one vshg lol.

meus, why mod your Namco Arcade Joystick to be a specific dual-mod? If I had the heartless balls to mod one of these things (I kid, I kid; all of you who modded yours did some cool stuff with them), I’d mod it with a DB-15 connector so you can use it in project boxes. I’d say that’d be a smarter investment in the long run and you wouldn’t even have to fit anything in the cramped case or saw anything off.

there is space inside ppl only have to be creative how to do things. I will mod with MC chutllu board with xbox 360 and put nausb adapter the db-15 kind. I will start this project soon. it will have all stock parts kind of. I will switch out the microswitches with sanwa and put pcb joystick since the namco stix pcb dont use 5pins connection.

Why dual mod? Why not just get an Xconverter 360 and InPin? No need to mod the Joystick? Thats what i’m doing with my current set of sticks and its pretty awesome, both are lagless

i know but i want this little project. Anyways the namco i got is in bad shape so thats why i want to do this too lol.

meus, i done the same thing first using an external project box (lack of space) to house the xbox 360 pcb, and using db25 connectors to link the 2 pcbs together, but then I thought, why not dremel one of the big plastic circle things away and use the original namco pcb to save space? So at the moment I am in the process of cutting and painting the box, the electronics are mostly done anyway from the old project box anyway. I’ll post pics soon, should be complete in a week.

Cool cant wait for ur modd. For the project box i dont like it that must. B/c for me its extra tool to have or to move around.

Edit: i got outbid at yahoo japan auction lol for that old rusted namco stick.

I was planning on connecting the two pcbs together and since I already have a db25 attached to the case, using it as a detacheable usb cable for the xbox pcb, just so it’s a bit harder for idiots to use both connections at the same time and frying the pcbs! :stuck_out_tongue:

What do you guys think about Namco stock buttons VS. Sanwa buttons?

I have some Namco buttons coming my way and am going to replace my Sanwas with them.

Anyone prefer Namco buttons over Sanwa buttons?

I definitely like the stock Namco joystick over the JLF and am thinking I might have the same thoughts about the buttons…

jeenyus1, I don’t know about everyone else here, but I definitely love the Hori’s Namco Arcade Joystick buttons over Sanwa buttons. Hori’s Namco buttons have two aspects that I like. They’re planar (flat) as opposed to convex, and they’ve got enough resistance to rest your fingers on them. They also give a very very unique clicking sound, sorta like what you’d hear on an old IBM Model M keyboard.

But really, it’s sorta like the joystick; you just can’t tell how it’ll feel until you actually use them. If you do like them, awesome! Join the club! If you don’t, then hey, can’t blame that either.

Is the One with no Isues?

yes this one was directed from japan to canada. I played with it and had to issues.

The only revision I ever heard of other than the original that was recalled was the ā€œfixedā€ version, which I have.
