Try Elena. Noone uses her, and she’s Chun light but with good rushdown and combos. Fun to play.
P.S. I think everyone in the game is fun to use, and each brings something totally different to the table.
do you have fun when you use chun li? or maybe shes your security blanket because youre afraid of change? I cant really see someone play chun and be like “WHOOO HOOO!! ITS LIKE A ROLLER COASTER!! WOOOOO! TOO MUCH FUN! BRAIN…MELTING!!” I thought ken was fun to use until I got BORED AS HELL using him, then I moved on to akuma and hugo and elena and Q and the universe was at peace, hell, anythings better than chun.
3rd strike is a game of endless depth and skill, theres so much to it and youre only experiencing a very small (and lame) portion of it by ONLY playing chun li. Once I learn a fair amount of info for a game I like to use low tiers just because its a whole new mountain to climb. or wild and unpredictable characters. well good luck finding a new character
I appreciate everyone’s input and just to clarify, i havent only played Chun Li for the 3 years that i have been playing. I just play a really good Chun Li, but i also play Ken (I think that everyone has played Ken in their 3s career). I can play both of them pretty well. You guys are totally right though, Chun Li is most definitely a top tier character but not very fun or exciting to play. I have been dabbling in Yang a little bit and he is alot more fun to play. I just have to put more time into him and i will be good to go.

Well… what made you like using chun? Why did you get at the present level you are at with that character?
maybe if we could recognize your reasonings we could make a better guess at what other character you could be in to.
Try Dudley, Necro or Ibuki.
Gouki is rushdown incarnate. He’s like Makoto without being constrained to the choke to create combos. Which means he’s very fun to play.
Urien. Definitely.
Hugo ftw. coolest character to play with. Yang and Elena are fun too.
I enjoy playing the game with everyone except twelve. I love combos and mix-ups, but twelve REALLY requires a good gameplan. He’s extremely challenging to use. Any good twelve is pretty respectable.
But nevermind that. It’s not up to us. If you ask a forum, everyone’s gonna say something different. Go ahead and try playing with everyone and see who you enjoy playing with the most.
So you been playing the game for 3 years and only expllored 3 characters? Wow, thats like playing MvC2 and only using santhrax and scrub but mostly team scrub . But it is good that you want to change up characters and I highly suggest Alex. When I first played 3s I used Ryu a lot then I got my butt whooped by an Alex player. I was really impressed by his alex game and picked up Alex, now I think Alex is my best character, probably next to Ken (which everyone plays). Other than Alex Urien looks like a real fun character to play and Dudley those are my next two characters to really pick up. But yeah man chun is just a lot of the time annoying and in a lot of cases just boring, no offense to those who play chun.

I play with Chun on every single SF game, just because I’ve always played with her since the original SFII, but I guess I also understand the need to branch out and learn something new. I’d say try and learn a char you’d never usually use. I learned a decent Zangief on A3 that way.

Keep using Chun. Learn how to dash. Find other buttons besides fp & mk.
