Jason, this is a bit offtopic, but in the beginning of march, i’ll be visiting LA for a week or two. i more than likely won’t have access to a computer. i was wondering if you’re going to have any tourneys at Game Zone X during that period?
Are you serious, 5.1? That game is a test version, IMO. =P I can’t see them renting an extra 5.1 machine for this but who knows.
But either way, I’ll probably be there :\ Just voicing my opinion. I can see the point in having it seeing how you’re trying to have almost all arcade games.
And Tekken is on a sunday YET AGAIN. This discouraged people from showing up last year, and it’s also keeping them from showing up to Midwest Challege next week as well.
bigpoppa: We will have tourneys At GAme Zone X in March, jsut not sure of the games and exactly when yet. So far two weeks straight has been a success.
Syxx: Tekken had the most people at MWC last year even on a Sunday night, and with MLG having a competing tourney the same weekend. I have to have those tournaments on Sunday because I have to increase numbers for the Capcom tourneys. It seems that players will come for GGXX and Tekken anyway, and if they pass up something like this for the mere fact that it’s on a Sunday, they are silly. Nickel games people, NEED I SAY MORE???

T5:DR is still being tested at the hip, I don’t think they’re going to get it at Nickel City though. They got it WAYYY too late and ppl hardly played there so I doubt the owner will spend the money on the upgrade. I don’t blame him though.

Jinmaster: I did not even know that mystery “Bill” had a last name! Bill is no competition to me in MK. It’s a respect issue. He is some random guy who hyped himself up out of the blue for these MK games, and it turns out to be all lies. I have no doubts of his skills in MK5 or whatever the heck it is he plays now, DOA, etc, but asking him to play me in MK2/UMK3 is the equivalent of that random dude “The Best” who came into Game Zone X last weekend thinking he was going to take down everyone for money in CVS2 with his special team of R2 Akuma, Iori, and Ken.He lost to me for money and I had to make it close so he did not feel so bad, and Valle was supposed to play him for cash, but when he saw/heard all this bs behind it, it was basically more disrespect than anything.
Bottom line is, he’s coming for DOA4, not MK…he’s probably going to place top 3 in DOA4, and that’s great and all, but I am there to play SF and run SF tourneys, and Sunday is 3D day for everyone…but I’m not getting in the middle of another stupid MK battle for money that no one pays up at (ie Julian Robinson and Jeff Shaffer top MK player money matches for $500 that end up never happened once they saw how I really play MK2/UMK3) so blah to that…

Hrmm I dont remember me watching you divide the money… As a matter of fact iirc after the team tourny I was so pissed at kenji and company for talking to me durning every match trying to tell me how to play. I left everyone and went to myself over by teh bathroom. And then there you gave me the money. I didnt think much of it at the time, and didnt count and do the math in my head till afterwords…
At least thats how I remember it happening. As for not saying anything till after the tourny well yea like I said I dont think I acctualy did all the math till I cooled myhead etc blah grumble etc. And my main beef with the money in genral is, why say theres all this “extra” money yadda yadda, when in fact in a way your winning money which is yours in the first place that you paied with all that extra crap you had to do. Seems to me truely the extra money benifits everyone but the people that DO win the tourny at least in a sence. And with that ill go mumble to myself now.
OH NOS! From what I now, Bill was the best at every MK game in the world. After each MK came up, he stopped playing the old MK and learned the newer one. He has an UMK3 Cabnet at his house, and he plays from time to time, so I’m sure he wont mind playing for money (nothing huge, as he doesnt play competivly anymore). I feel asking $$ matches for older games has no real point. Because once a newer version of that game comes out (MK4, MK5, MK6) the ‘title’ is no longer availble. As like I said before, as far as I know, Bill is the MK world champion.
I’m not trying disrespecting anyone, yet sometimes It seems I have a habbit of coming off that way. I guess its just the Jinmaster inside me.

What made him the best MK player in the world? It’s self proclaimed. He never went to any “world tournament” for any of the MK2s or 3s. Any self respecting MK player knows who the top players in the USA are at MK2, UMK3, and 4. He “might” be pretty good at 5 or 6, but the only major MK arcade events that existed he did not attend.
SOrry about that but it’s self proclaimed BS. Ask Lex, Ask Eddie Ferrier, ask Sabin, ask anyone with half a brain.
