I didn’t test it on all characters it just helps to delay the first air hit as long as possible.

Man, Wesker low shot assist makes Mag’s so much more deadly I’m almost contemplating swapping Dante out for Wesker but I like having an AAA especially against Sentinel.

Okay, so Magneto’s fly and then E cancels fly while throwing out E. It’s incredibly fast and makes for a good hi/low mix up in combination with a lock down assist like Sentinel drones (especially in the corner). It kind of makes up for how trijump works now. I’ve been having a hard time trying to rush down with mags but this fly, E overhead has been working better.

yes mag and wesk work well together and sent drones help with rush down for both those guys too. As of now this is the best team i could come up with for my style. TEAM LOVE BABY. I switched my rotation though. Mag still point but sent 2nd for the dhc from tempest to sentinal. HSF misses a lot of the time so I just used the other one. The timing is odd for HSF from tempest.

WHen I was playing a sent I actually took out magneto and put dante in hahaha. Now I just use team love but change rotation and fight sentinal with sentinal. I am pretty comfortable with sent vs sent with jam session so i totally see where your coming from.

The fly E can be poked out of. I did some testing with it last night. Wesker can down B you on the way up. I think if you to more block string then fly dowb B will whiff and you can punish the whiff but most people are going to push block the block string I think. I still use fly e a lot in my rush down regardless.

Mags + Sent drones is amazing.

I run Mags, Task, Sent because honestly you can put nearly anyone in that second spot.

Magnetos s.light is AMAZING anti air. You can dash L and anti air a ton of shit them launch into air combo.

Midscreen the best combo IMO is:

S, jH, adf, j.M, j.H, land, j.H, adf, j.M, j.H, land, j.H, adf, j.M, j.H, land: then i finish with

if in corner: s.H, L grav, Magnetic Storm
if mid screen: s.H + drones assist, M disruptor (leads to drones pressure)
or you can do anything after that like s.H into lv3

canceling c.H into fly overhead S is really nice

j.S is very good, its a great jump in with a good hitbox but its not a worldbeater like Joe mentioned above me.

s.L is gooooood

c.H (the slide) is very good for punishing stuff from far away. It also goes under stuff like some jumpins quite well.

c.L is not as good as I once thought. It is actually kind of slow but still its very good because you can chain them into each other then easy hit confirm into launch combo

c.M does chip for some reason haha

j.H is a great air to air for people jumping at you poorly because it leads into the loop combo mentioned above

You DONT need to superjump in order to cancel j.H into an airdash. So for that combo up top im just always normal jumping into that H adf MH.

That is also a huge plus because you can call an assist during that combo.

Ok, so the second hypergrav loop is jH adf jMjH sH x LHyperGrav right?

How are you getting the first jh to keep them so low so the jMjH keeps them at the right hight for the sH x LHyperGrav to catch

i just do j.H right after a launch then adf M H

You have more time that you think and can do it kinda slow.

remember to air dash forwards and not down forward

Any chance you could tact on Dante Jam Session Assist before Tempest for extra damage?

Im at work now but can anyone see if mags hyper grab aasist picos up after wesk gun otg gun shot… I been using em dis. Team love is too good! Sorry for bad typing on iPhone and working haha

Joe, I would imagine that would work fine depending how long you have to hit after gun hits.

I think calling wesker and then doing like L grav immediately cancel into tempest shooould work.

Yup, its hard to fight mags when he can em disrupter to basically shut down slower zoning characters or rushdown chars and get time to fill the screen with drones, then he just basically freestyles og way. Idk I don’t want to play sent at all, but his drones/bombs and xf mode are so good its like an auto disatvantage if you dont, Mags is fun but im more interested in finding ways to get around disrupter + drones

This is my magneto midscreen combo, the longest combo I could think of:

A, B, cr.C, S, j.C, fwd dash, j.B, j.C, land, dash cr.C, S, j.B, j.C, qcb + S, j.A, j.B, j.C. fwd airdash, j.C, j.S.

you can gravity squeeze when you land for lol times.

EDIT: is it REALLY necessary to use an OTG assist for magneto? im using dante/mag/Hsienko, and I really like jam session, but only crystal can OTG which bothers me a bit. Any comments?

i am going to a session. bring my handycam with me so i might have matches on my ancient youtube page by the morning. I know youll see me team love (mag sent wesk) a spider man dante deadpool, an ammy doom dante, a trish dante doom. thats all the teas i know off the top of my head that will be there. Ill post up in this thread when i get them up. Along with the wesk and sent threads

Looks like you can set up a pretty nice mix up by calling Wesker assist and immediately doing Fly E. If you vary the timing of the Fly E you can make it either hit low then high or high then low which can’t be fun to block.

quickly browsing through this thread since i just got my hands on mvc3 today. so i should probably rely on mag’s flight into immediate flight cancel for my quick high? was trying to triangle jumplike in mvc2 but the air dash is just too fast for me to try an overhead.

also would this same technique work for storm/IM? thanks. been running magneto/dante/ammy. getting used to calling out dante at the right times for him to help OTG with jam session

anyone have any tips for doing the corner loop combos joe has been doing, after the first hypergrav i can only get the first fierce but i cant get the dash medium fierce to land. it could be just that ive been sicker than shit this week but im failing hard on this one.

I’m trying to think of some resets with Mag and besides ending air combos early into flight and go for the mvc2 style cross over.

I was taking the corner Hyper Grav “loop” and decided to see what kind of reset we could get from it. Basically, when you land the second hyper grav instead of doing magnetic tempest or a relaunch into spike you can end the combo with c.H+Sentinel Drone assist. If they roll forward out of the corner they roll into the Sentinel Drones and have to block. Since they can’t really push block that much it gives you a free get in for a tick throw or Fly, E cancel, overhead mix up. If they roll back or don’t tech they still have to block Sent Drones and you can run the same mix ups. Maybe not so much a reset but a tech trap.

air throw resets are gdlk

when I am doing my loop ill end it sometimes with s.L

then let them air flip and air throw

magnetos air throw is GDLK!!!

they cant mash it and you get a free combo
