MvC3: Welcome to Die: The Mag-FREAKING-neto thread

Mags won’t even be in the next set of playable characters almost for sure. Kinda too bad, but you can tell the ny players are WAY less done than the TGS ones.

The user and all related content has been deleted.

They didn’t. I was hoping for Avalon too, but they remixed his XvsSF theme instead.

Understandable sir, but I meant competent in that these people have actually played a fighter before, and know what a QCF motion would be. Not like, super expert badass player going to take people to the cleaners.

@ Windsagio: That sucks, oh well maybe in a month or so we can see him in action.

A lot of that will depend on how his air dash works and how quick his normals are. If he can cancel normals into an 8 way air dash, which it looks like he can, that’s pretty much free mix-ups for him. Magneto didn’t even need the ROM to be good, all he needed was the set-up. Granted the ROM helped for guarenteed damage and further mind games, but he dealt more damage with resets anyway.

I hope magneto plays close to his MVC2 counter part. It wasn’t just the ROM, it was mindfucks and not knowing where to block.

All I hope is that Magnetic Tempest has fast start up like it did in MvC2, that thing was so useful…

True, but being able to use Hyper Grav to easily combo into it was what really made Magnetic Tempest so good. With Hyper Grav having a slower startup time in MvC3 as compared to 2 (unless Hyper Grav has variable properties depending on the attack button used to execute it), I wonder if there will be other opportunities to combo into Magnetic Tempest.

That being said, I wonder if you could do the magic series and then dash in to OTG with Magnetic Shockwaves (to get more shockwaves to hit). Mags can easily OTG with his level 3 from the magic series, and I’m interested in seeing how effective it would be with Shockwaves. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like the Shockwaves are much beefier in terms of damage this time around so there’s more of an incentive to finish combos with it instead of with Magnetic Tempest.

being able to combo shockwave off of em disruptor makes me hard

they should play down his close comboing and focus on his projectiles it balances him out and makes him accurate to the comics, win-win and will force field be of any use?

Not sure how effective Forcefield is going to be. All we know is that it’s a quick counterattack, like it was in the previous game.

Fuck balance. If Mags isn’t broken, he’s useless.

fuck comic book accuracy, this is technically a seperate universe anyway

I’m already stoked enough that it’s full vertical range.

The version they showed in his debut trailer looked really slow… slow enough to be unblockable? They already made EM like his fierce in cota, iirc gravs were unblockable back then, right?

there were different hypergravs in mvc2, in terms of range and how long they held you

Since I’m bored, I decided to see what normals transitioned over from 2 to 3:

s.A: s.jab
s.B: ?
s.C: s. fierce (pretty sure about this; considering there is a picture on the official MvC3 site showing Mags doing the s. fierce motion)

c.A: c.short
c.B: c.strong
c.C: c.roundhouse

E (launcher): c.fierce

j.A: j.short? looks like it
j.B: j.forward
j.C: air version of s.fierce?

E (knockdown): j.fierce

Obviously though with a smattering of screen shots and only two videos to work with, we’re still in the dark about Mags. I want to hear more about being able to jump cancel some normals though, and if comboing into Magnetic Tempest will still be doable this time around!

Why nobody reposted this articleyet?

Mag-F!@%ING-neto deserves a mention.

make him useless then.

And now you’re trash.

From the screens you can see that Maggie still has the Zen hands in his stance. : D
