MvC3: Two Girls one Corpse: The Hsien-Ko Thread!

Does she have a different win pose against Shuma? Seems like she’d have to. I, for one, wouldn’t mind seeing Hsien-Ko get all slimy.

Silence

Oh, and Morrigan says (in text) “My, those tentacles are strong. I hope the party’s just getting started?” after beating Shuma. So yeah. Implications.

EDIT: I just found this gem on the MvC wiki when looking up win quotes:
(To Hsien-Ko):

“As a bride to one of the Old Ones you would be given many dimensions as a dowry.”

Oh god. Lord Raptor, you better look out.

Okay, serious business time. Someone mentioned a few pages back about using a combination of Golden Armor + Pendulum while on point to get through Dorm’s Dark Holes and stuff. Sure, she’s going to get a chunk taken out of her while swinging through Dorm’s traps, but once Lei-Lei’s through, you can do whatever you want. Speaking of which, I should try that out.

Hsien Ko talks about weapons when facing Taskmaster by the way.

Oh, I went and beat Morrigan with Shuma, not the other way around. It’s always the same juggling win pose with Hsien-Ko.

She does mention Lord Raptor, can’t remember against who but she says they’re almost as annoying as Lord Raptor and his stupid guitar or something :stuck_out_tongue:

Seems like she also pokes fun at Sakura, “Konna toko da ne, right?” (or “Konna toko da ne, ssu te.” in JP) is one of her win quotes, which is Sakura’s catchphrase (minus the “right?” or “just kidding” in JP). Still bugs the hell out of me, translate it for Christ’s sake!

You must have missed my edit :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it’s possible to combo into L or M Senpuu Bu in the corner and the combo from that into a launch but it’s very hard, might be an X-Factor only deal too.

Clockwork’s Hsien-Ko was in one of those stream videos too :3

Care to link please? =X

He uses Hsien-Ko in last month’s WNF

From what I remember he has one game where he uses her quite well but ends up getting bum rushed most of the time :frowning:

new video’s tonight, i bought a new camera so quality will be better, not HD stream quailty but its a whole lot better than what i started with

occasionally ill just go with golden armour and then just use forward dash to teleport all the way in and possibly behind the opp. the invincible frames (when shes invisible) usually ensures she doesnt take a ton of damage on the way in and with the added benefit of being able to block at any point and the fact she isnt even on screen half of the time can work as a nice surprise sometimes. one thing ive wanted to try out is how well she can move between the waves of Hyper sentinel force taking as little damage as possible but i havent remembered about it till just now.

With all this talk of Gold Armor, I think there’s a very important point everyone should keep in mind. If you already know this, forgive me for repeating it, but after a throw you can be hit with a combo. And really pay attention to how much life you have and how much damage you’re going to take for eating something. I can’t count how many times I’ve gotten Lei-Lei killed just mindlessly trying to interrupt someone’s attacks.

Can gold armor be used as a good “reversal” against some beam hypers?

e.g against Proton-Hou > activate gold armor on reaction > try to interrupt if close enough or superjump in? Is this possible or is there some other kind of hit-stun on her?

Gold armor has 20 frames of start-up where she is vulnerable. You can get around this by DHCing into that hyper though; it has no frames after the cutscene.

A basic DHC armor setup for Lei Lei:

I was able to OCV a person (really good player, I might add) with this technique. Couldn’t really trick him twice as the next rounds he’d just run away.

is it really that useful? I was attempting this and I think I was canceling too early because she would start teleporting then cancel into another one without moving. Do you wait until after you hear the noise and she moves forward a little?

Is it just me or does j.MMHS not work on small characters? :frowning: (probably me)

Also Hulk actually calls Hsien-Ko by name, you’d think he’d have more trouble with her name compared to others he has nicknames for :stuck_out_tongue:

Small characters in general are harder to combo. That’s the advantage of being, well, small.

As for the dash canceling, you have to cancel it right as you’re coming out of the teleport itself. I was playing around with it in training mode last night and my problem is actually doing more than two in a row, but that’s just a matter of timing.

You’re better off just doing j.MMS anyways, right? Since you’d usually want to connect with Chireitou afterwards.

Haha, yeah with Hulk…I was gonna start picking random characters with him just to see what he’d call them by when tagging out :stuck_out_tongue: I’d expect him to call Hsien-Ko, “DEAD GIRL!”

In the corner you’ll want to do Tenraiha instead so getting that little extra from an extra air attack is nice :3

“DEAD GIRL!” would totally fit, maybe 'cause Hsien-Ko was one of the last characters added they just gave up his nicknames, if I remember correctly there was a little back-and forth with a Marvel writer and Capcom for them so guess their time was somewhat limited. I’d assume that gamespot video or whatever probably has all of Hulk’s tag-out nicknames :3

Ah ok, I was assuming a non-corner combo. I’m still not sure if you would want to add in the H cause of damage scaling?

I don’t think the damage scaling is that bad, H does a fair bit of damage so it should make up for it :3

Nah, it actually does a bit of scaling…best to leave out s. H and j. H out of combos unless they’re necessary to continue.
