Hmm…good use of gong to get a tag-in. I was trying to figure out a good way to get Dark Force super and exchange to my 2nd character safely.
Also I find it hilarious that the ad that came up with that video is “Date Pretty Chinese girl”

I guess when you write a wall of text, people really don’t read it, lmao.
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this. But her normals are all completely special and super cancelable on whiff for whatever reason. None of her normals are jump cancelable. She still has a wave dash though which helps her be slightly more mobile on the ground and has a kara throw with her 6C.
edit: it seems mostly everyone can cancel moves into specials on whiff.
Alright so gotta wonder, am I screwed if she’s the last one left in my team? If any other member of my team is the last one left, and I have X-Factor, I feel comfortable that I can make a comeback. What are my options with X Factor? What’s a good strategy to try and make a comeback?
Armored Lei Lei pendulum best assist in game next to Ammy’s Cold Star and Dante’s Jam Session. Also Sentinal’s bomb drones assist is too good it takes up half the screen. Lei Lei’s Slowness is easily overlooked when using her normals correctly. Her Standing HP stuffs air dashers, and her otg tenraiha->x factor->Tenraiha-> Haggars super body press move is just too much damage.
Oh for my squad I have a scrubby mashy setup for opponents who block alot. I armor up Lei Lei at the beginning of the match, and quickly switch her out for Haggar on Point. I use Haggar’s unblockable rush grab move while Lei Lei has the armored pendulum backing him up. It GOES through everything literally. I’ll post some combos when I get out the danger room. My teams looking real noobish right now…and Im lovin it.

I recorded myself going through Hsien-Ko’s mission mode earlier today. It’s simple stuff for the most part but I’ll put it here in case anyone wants a visual reference for when they go through it.
Picked up the strategy guide today. I’ll probably post Hsien-Ko’s relevant info in here before the weekend if no one else gets around to it first. I just want to read through and internalize most of the non-character specific parts of the guide first.
I did glance through her section for some details on item toss. The star and the bonsai tree are the only two dizzy items. The item thrown is dictated by the number of frames that have elapsed since the previous use of the move (or the start of the match if it hasn’t been used yet). Theoretically, it’s possible to loop dizzy items one after another infinitely if you have frame-perfect timing. Obviously unfeasible for us mere mortals, but if you fool around with record playback in training mode long enough you can probably produce this to confirm.
Dizzy items that strike airborne opponents do not cause dizzy but instead cause a special knockdown state upon which all of your moves are OTG capable.
clockw0rk rocking hsien-ko, doom (hidden missiles) and phoenix, saw some really good stuff.
Nice, that’s my team.
Where did you happen to see it?
Level|Up had a tournament going on and they had a lot of good stuff. I missed some of it but I hope the videos are uploaded soon, I am itching to watch the replays.

I find it funny how people just overlook things in this thread.
Clockwork’s team is way too gimmicky imo, not being allowed to use meter because of Phoenix. This is a big problem for Hsien because her damage off Bnbs is pretty low compared to most characters, and without her OTG Tenraiha/Chireitou Hsien’s just a punch bag for rush down heavy characters like Mag/Wesker.
Although to be fair, Clock was dropping combos a lot, and he did say he was mashing lols.
Has anyone found a good command grab kara for her?
Down+C
I typically feel a little less comfortable attempting comebacks with her, but its definitely doable. I’m still pretty scrubby, but I managed a 1 vs 3 (each at about half health) comeback last night with a few tricks.
First of all, assuming you’re making use of DFP, when she comes back on screen as your last character you’ll still have Hyper Armor. I usually go for rushdown immediately. If they are trying to hit you just eat the damage and take a free combo. If they are blocking try to use her post pendulum falling mixup to score a combo, or go for a command grab. If you manage to land either, I would either use your X-factor mid combo to get Tenraiha KFC Sword Hyper, or in some cases depending on your situation, just save the extra meter and activate X-Factor after your finished.
At this point I usually try and continue heavy pressure. Firstly, I typically try to save meter at this point for additional Hyper-Armours. This way you can keep it up and remain extremely aggressive. I do alot of H-Pendulum’s followed by rush down attempts. Just make sure you don’t get caught in a super. If you make good use of her moveset, with both X-factor and Hyper Armour she becomes a pretty terrifying rushdown character.
Also, if your opponent is doing a good job at playing keep away (and isn’t in X-factor), try spamming Anki Hou. Its becomes pretty fast in X-factor and does good chip. I remember in one match I managed to finish off the last quarter of someone’s health with chip from 6 or 7 X-factor Anki Hous. Not the most elegant strategy but it has its merit.
Like I said, I’d rather be put in that situation with Dorm or X-23, but she definitely can pull it off if you play smart and have good reaction time under pressure. Hopefully that helps.
team Anti-Sent: Hsien (pendulum)-Dorma(Dark Hole)-Chris(machine gun).
Theory. but what do u guys think
i used to play keep away in mvc2, i think this team could work very well together…
Thats really interesting about the random items. Does this count each version of the move (ABC) as separate moves with different frame counts or do they all just follow the same frame counts and count as the same move for these purposes?
on semi-hiatus from the forum, if the OP needs to be updated please send me a PM, I"ll try to get it updated.
For some odd reason, I use her head spin as confirmation for the item. Obviously you can’t rely on it too much in a match, but I tend to get the star and bonsai when it spirals to about the 10-11 o’clock position. Don’t quote me on this though. I get the kunai very often though, since that’s easy to time.
Can someone help test this with me? About a night ago, I was trying out the properties for Hypers and I managed to sneak in a cr. M after the recovery ended. It combo’d too and put them back into the juggle state. I managed to do it randomly three times if I recall, but would like some extra confirmation to see if anybody else got something wonky from this. Might just be me playing too long.
EDIT: Do you guys want the frame data and snippets? I can post it up if you want.
I assume you mean Tenraiha? I’ll test it out, see if I can duplicate you’re results. I see some people are frustrated with her launcher being inconsistent after a magic series, I like to do s.l (or c.l)s.m,c.m,s.h,c.h,s I almost always get that combo like 95%. Also, I’m sure this has been discovered but I didn’t see it on the last few pages so it’s worth mentioning I guess. You can get a full magic series into air combo or whatever of a regular throw with her. Which is weird, it seems her normal throw is more useful than her command grab.
P.S. who wants to start a Hsien Ko combo/movelist thread? Let’s get organized.:wonder:
Don’t know if anyone has been doing this, but she happens to have a fun gong loop in the corner. Might be better options but 600-650K is more than I’ve gotten before with one bar with her.
s.M s.H(3) c.H f.H 421M c.H f.H 421M c.H f.H 421M s.H(3) s.S j.H(3) j.S 214XX
I need to see if I can fit one more gong in there.
Any need to know combos for Ko?
