You guys hating on Chris Hu are probably not even actually listening to his words and just assuming people like him based purely on his accent. He actually does some pretty hilarious commentary that would be funny regardless of accent or not. For example, if you caught his bit about getting girls to look him up on Facebook when he was along for a few minutes and normally the commentary would break down, that was absolutely beautiful and definitely kept the conversation flowing.
There aren’t that many commentators out there that can keep people entertained when they’re alone and often break down into those awkward silent moments during a stream.
There’s a Dante/Trish/Wesker player on the IPlayWinner stream tonight that’s making me happy. Glad to see Jago’s team still getting play. They’re 3 characters who work really well together, which is funny given that he just picked them because he liked them at the start.
Im annoyed that people still don’t know that after a hard tag, the cooldown after messes with snap ins. When Phoenix hard tags out, you can’t immediately snap her back in, you have to wait for the cooldown or else you just snap in the other character.
It’s a really dumb bug I wish Capcom would’ve fixed.
WNF on LevelUp/Offcast : Clockwork’s Doom was so pretty to watch. It did way more work than his Ammy/Phoenix combined. Mix-ups, huge combos, keepaway… it had it all.
Viscant seemed lost in the match-up against another Tron team. Definitely something to work on before Evo. His Iron-Man was looking really good.
Starbase on IPlayWinner : Magus’ commentary was the best part.
My biggest takeaway from watching top 8’s was that people are still dropping a lot. I think there’s a lot of room for rock-solid players to show up right now.
Yeah I’ve seen more game winning combos dropped in the last week or so than the last couple of months combined.ECT just looked so sloppy because of this.
I think the biggest thing I saw is that Richard N.'s team is revolving around Dante and requires him to use Dante, and his Phoenix seems more like a liability he added on due to though prominence of Phoenix players. His Dante was always good but it has reached a whole new level, and once he finds and ideal team I can’t see many players standing up to that.
Just watched some of WNF: SE, great stuff, man Richard with those insane combos (God his Dante has leveled up), Clockworks too @Doom. Im sometimes missing that ‘‘Damnn’ from the commentators though, I see some insane combos’/setups I have never seen before (I do watch tournaments a lot) and they are just talking about their daily lifes like nothing happened lol. SF4 = One hit shoryuken was = wowhwohw. (Altho I do understand they’ve seen a lot, and it is there mostly)
And DAMN James chen talks a ish - load lol, I could tell even Dave was just like ‘’|:…So the match’’ sometimes. I knew he did already though, but it was more than before lol.
Who else does Clockw0rk play anyway other than Jill/Ammy/Doom/Phoenix? I always wondered whether he has tired using Wesker or Zero, who are probably the closest to Strider in this game.
“Closest” =/= close. Wesker’s teleport game is the closest you have to Strider’s, him plus beam attacks from Doom or Iron Man is probably the closest you can get to MvC2’s Strider/Doom, although yes he’s still very different from Strider.
I also am surprised that he hasn’t tried Zero, with his level of execution ability I am sure Clockw0rk would have been an amazing Zero player. And what’s more, Zero pairs very well with Doom.
