On an unrelated note, Chris Hu for evo commentary. I haven’t spent so much time on a stream while nothing was playing before this.
Thanks.
Wha’t’s makes Chris Hu’s commentary even better is the stream comments during it.
Man, Jaha and Chris Hu have no synergy what-so-ever; it’s hilarious.
I’m absolutely 100% sick of Chris Hu commentating streams.
I like the guy a lot, he’s a great player, great for the community, and occasionally says some random ass funny shit.
But the main joke is that he has a bad Chinese accent and says things funny. That joke is way played out, dumb, and actually kind of mean. I’m done with it.
Putting him on just feeds the stream monsters.
When you have a great opportunity to showcase games and high level players to thousands of casual gamers, having someone who can’t speak English very well is a terrible desicion.
chris hu is knowledgeable and hilarious. i could listen to him all day. the interview with him and ski at SBR was really interesting
When you have an opportunity to show thousands of people the diversity of the fighting game community, excluding a knowledgeable player from being on the stream because he has a thick accent is a terrible decision.
This is the second time I’ve heard of guys saying that Seth says nerfs are coming. I’m not sure if I like it unless it’s just gonna be X-factor.
EDIT: I literally went to the other room for like a minute and a half and Spidey cleaned up NYC Fab’s team…wow.
whats a bad chinese accent anyway? not like hes faking it, dude is pretty clearly chinese
He’s not exactly dropping sugarbombs of knowledge everywhere
"That is not safe. Get punished. Oh. He drop the combo." “I think Balrog wins the matchup” Ok… why? he doesn’t say.
Bad, as in severe. In this case, the opposite of slight.
I know Chris is great and all, but it’s just like if you get a college professor and they obviously got tenure because of their research and not b/c of their teaching ability b/c you can’t understand them at all.
It’s really frustrating to listen to.
There are plenty of players who know the game very well and can communicate it clearly and quickly enough for stream commentary. Chris Hu is not one of them, and that’s a fact.
It’s kinda like that World Cup when the English channels hired that Spanish “gooooooooooooooaaaaaal” guy. It just didn’t work.
Case in point: highlight of Chris Hu’s commentary was when talking to Aquasilk about his trip to central america and asked if there were a lot of “P’s” there. It took a minute for Aqua to realize that P’s meant prostitutes.
Awkward humor during stream downtime? Chris Hu is your guy!
Actually commentating on a match? Almost anyone else is better.
PS- I’m not advocating the countless guys who just get on there and shout fighting game catch phrases all over the place.
“Exposed! Get in there! SWAG! Blown up! Crispy! Scoops!” or whatever the phrase of the day is.
Those guys are horrible too, just in a different way.
Marvel qualifiers from what I could see:
Winners: Remix, RyRy
Losers: Moose, Rashaan, Steve H?
I agree with Renegade about Chris Hu. The joke is played out. Let it die. At this point people are laughing at him, not with him. Personally tired of “LOLOL ASIAN GUY WITH A THICK ACCENT SAYING FUNNY STUFF SOMETIMES IN ENGRISH SO GODLIKE”. It’s not.
I 'd rather have Chris Hu than those guys who did NCR.
Chris Hu feeds me. I hunger.
I’d rather have Chris Hu than half of the people that do commentary these days.
Jeez Noel
Damn Noel choked and got blown up
RyRy is not hesitant to use that level 3
Edit: Capcom has to do something about those slowdowns
A grand final without Phoenix is… refreshing
Wow time out chole… and Chris G take it, a Ryu team takes it… who would have thought that at day 1…
RyRy wouldn’t have won anyway, he only had one second left for the OTG
rywhy
Ryry’s execution is mediocre as hell. He needs to step those combos up. Zero kills just about the entire cast in one combo now. Magneto stuff needs some work also. Totally read Chris G but his weak combos were letting Chris G get away from death. Mad props to Ryry either way though. Mentally he won the tournament.
