MvC3 Tournament and Stream commentary thread

Him using that X Factor so early is another example of his inexperience. Notice how with Wong’s Wolverine/Storm/Akuma he’s able to DHC from Wolverine’s hyper into Storm’s Ice Storm, and that kills most characters without using up the X Factor. Rushing for the kill works well against n00bs but not so well against the better players.

Tokido rushing for the kill definitely didn’t do well against the better players. Only won him 1st place.

What? Do you even understand how Marvel works, let alone how his team works? X-Factor is powerful in several situations; you don’t have to save it for your last character. The entire purpose of burning X-Factor early is to for sure kill one character while potentially killing the other in just one mix up as they are coming in. That leaves Daigo up three characters with some meter versus his opponent’s one character with some meter. For an opponent to come back from that is very, very difficult.

Both Tokido and JWong burned X Factor early in their GF match at CEO. I guess they’re inexperienced and can only win against noobs with that strategy, right?

Lol what. Burning XF early is something all good wolverines have been/are still doing. Even the JWong you so revere. Do you even play this game?

Yeah but if he had followed his advice maybe he could have taken the entire tournament without losing a game, so obvious! /sarcasm

lol DJ why do you still post on here? Is it just out of boredom? lol

Who came up with the term Best Friends? Someone at NCR?

I always love these statements.

I think the best friend thing was some funny picture made on MS paint (can’t remember who made it), sometime after final round and before powerup.

The** Eddie Lee** in Grand Finals at Guard Crush. Put Chris G into losers and now playing him in GF.

Eddie Lee best Doom?

lol@pic
Eddie lee might have the best lame game I’ve seen so far, too bad it only works online.

TO Mr. Eddie Lee:

That sh*t only works online. Dont bring that game here. It doesn’t work…

The problem with playing Doom lame is it only works until they get in…then you’re fucked lol. Once you’re forced to play an offense with Doom you start to realize that you’re better off just zoning long enough to use a photon shot to set up your offense and get in and do damage yourself. He’s not quite as good as opening people up as Magneto but he’s got enough tools to do it considering he doesn’t have to take on a whole team stocked with XF by himself or nothing.

I wanna know how he made it to grand finals… that was terribad.

He needs way more practice, he looked like he knew what he was doing some of the time, but most of the time he was just dropping shit all over the place and making huge fuck ups like Lariat > super > XF > nothing, he did that like twice. He doesn’t know his own Doom combos too well either since he pushed the hit stun too far and lost them and dropped the j.S into dash a bunch of times too, it was a real shame to see him drop that on Wesker and Ryu where he jumped the gun and skipped the j.S into Dash down + H.

Not nearly lame enough for Eddie Lee though. Standing in the corner with beam assist and Dorm? That’s not lame at all, his Dorm can get way more lame with a little more aggressive zoning and not stand there and try and make them jump into a pillar.

*Oh yeah, the full screen grounded spirit fingers super spam was hella nooby. Don’t know what he was doing with that, it does no chip even in XF. If he wanted to lay cover and XF to pressure that’s definitely the wrong super.

As harsh as it sounds, I’m glad he is back. Fuck WoW.

He’s probably used to dat online lag as well.

I think he was randomly XFactoring because he was mashing for the extra hits.

i hate that Richard N is playing Phoenix. It nerfs his Dante

What are you people talking Eddie Lee’s team only work online? He got to Grand Finals. There are flaws on the team, but he did well. I do think Eddie Lee was calling his Haggar assist a bit unsafely, and I’ll understand if you think that’s a bad habit acquired from playing online only.

Still, props to Chris G, he was smart to adapt to his opponents strategy. He noticed that if Dormammu went down early in the match, Eddie Lee would have to take the initiative to cover the difference. In that situation, what’s the use of the Haggar assist? Doom was basically by himself after Dorm was down.

Eddie Lee isn’t that bad, his Doom is quite good. He just needs to learn to be less lame and he can actually be a highly respectable player.
