well, cant get 'em all… LOL. man ive loved your chun play since back in vanilla, even now on mvc3 your shit is real crispy, just what i’d expect from you.
i guess you are using some sort of tac… hmmm… none of those characters can end trick though right? (rhetorical)
well, if you do end up finding something let us know ( or pm me!
Okay, I wanted to make a video first and show my other chun combos. I guess someone can make it for me, i’ll make it short then, since i have to sleep. For this to work storm has to be second, It’s counter-able but it’s still worth a try.
get them in the corner, because it works best there. do your chun bnb combo into a launcher, do your air combo then do the exchange down into storm. Storm gets in dash down right away and do her element super, dhc to chun kick super, the first few hits should miss and the rest should hit. You should be able to do a full air combo and go back at it again if you want.
If you know some of chun’s lengthy combos you should be able to dhc trick, relaunch and knock down to team combo… You’ll have enough meter if they don’t counter it.
Now, Storm can also start it for chun, if you know how to do a simple ground combo with storm…
Low short l med low H jumpcancel air med air med st.md st. H to element super then dhc to kick super…
The trick is with this dhc, the opponent needs to be very high during that element super animation, It allows chun kick super to miss the first few hits, sorta like sentinel drones super.
Well, I hope that helps, I’m not good with explaining, that’s why i wanted to make a video, but I’ll be using this in my matches.
Chun li isn’t that weak…
awesome lud! i actually tried to find a way to make to make the first hits of chun kick super wiff so i could dhc trick but i couldnt find a setup. nice that you have now.
from buktooth starter to launcher to lmhs+storm tac:
this IS A DHC RESET. as lud said it cant be done if storm uses it on a grounded opponent cause they wont be high enough in the air for chuns kick super to wiff a couple of hits. the aerial combo before the tac cant be double jumped cause storm needs to be kind of close to the ground so that she can land quickly after doing air dash down.
this is DEFINITELY possible midscreen, but the timing is tricky to get the kick super to not wiff or hit to early/high
so i did buktooth into aerial lmhs tac storm>dhc trick to chun kick super> (aerial d.m,d.m,h xx h legs) x3,s 740k 2 meters corner only for stomp followups. probably does about 670 k midscreen for the enders i use.
can probably be done off of L/R tac as well.
excellent find lud, now we might be able to find some other ways to dhc trick into chun.
after maximising the combo for the corner, i was able to get 840k but unfortunately i cant end it since hitstun scaling keeps kicking in bigtime… seems like a bit more stomps and h should hit… maybe tops off at like 900 k damage total, but super hard.
oh yeah, it is definitely possible to do it off of triple jump… my timing was just wack when i first tried it.
Played some more real matches with this setup and I like it. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments too (but that could be because people don’t want to fight my Ammy lol). I find it’s best to start off by simply pushing an opponent into the corner with whirlwind assist while avoiding taking damage with Chun on point. Once they’re in the corner, then you unleash your offense. Chun’s jump cancelable cr.H makes it difficult to get her off. Even advancing guard becomes risky, because you can bait it out and land a free combo off Chun’s gdlk cr.M.
@ Dime_x: That’s a good idea about running Chun/Storm 2nd/3rd in a lineup. I’ll give that a try! Come to think of it, I reeeally like the sound of that because it makes TACs from the point character a massive threat. Also, I run Chun with her Y assist (lightning legs), because her THC Hoyoukusen hyper pops them up with its launcher immediately after Hailstorm finishes pelting them. The timing works out beautifully and leads to further mixups.
^^^ nice! glad i could help. i was just looking at that team in training mode (chun and storm, first character dead) and using the buktooth combo to triple jump ender to thc OTG i found that she can hit 2 thc’s in one combo… LOL. too funny but a waste of 4 bars. and yeah its possible to hit the thc otg midscreen as well, not even hard.
enders:
1 thc combo is 740k double thc combo is 1,058,000
double thc is funny though, can also xf and super…
someone explain this combo to me. I haven’t had the chance to practice it much. When i did i tried i would end with the heavy punch and no follow up stomp. This could be useful in chun’s game. Thanks to this guy, I don’t even know who he is.
That looks like another version of Chun-li’s headstomp infinite, but I don’t see how he got so many :h:s into it. I will definitely be trying this out. Maybe it only works in the top corners of the stage?
Edit: I checked his other videos and I see that he’s able chain the headstomp xx air :h: xx headstomp from midscreen also. He must have some sort of way of canceling the air :h:. I’m asking him on his videos how he does it and I’ll report back if he responds.
Edit2: It’s been 5 minutes since my last post, so he hasn’t responded yet, but I figured out how to do it. It’s all in the timing of the head stomps and the air :h:s. Look at his video again, and watch the movement of his Chun-li very closely.Take note of the timing between his head stomps and his air :h:s and try to imitate that timing exactly and you’ll get it. It’s pretty easy.
Capcom is gonna nerf the **** out of Chun-li now that she has an actual infinite. I am so mad at them right now, and they haven’t even done it yet.
i dont know… pretty sure there has to be a tac done as a starter. but thats all i got… they keep falling to fast…
-edit… i tried replicating his timing but chun keeps falling to fast… are you using a tac starter ryan?
-edit 2… yeah i cant get the headstomp to hit after the jumping H… chun falls to fast for me, my headstomp never even activates. on the vid the dude seems to get some sort of float state after he hits with jumping h… i havent been able to replicate that.
the the combo im using is tac> h xx h legs :d: +m, h, ( :d: +m) < that stomp always wiffs.
I’m doing this off of a naked standing :s:. It works without any tags.
The problem is linking the first stomp kick to the first air :h:. If, after the stomp kick you do the air :h: at the very first possible instant that you can, then the next stomp kick will link, after which you must do the air :h: at the very first possible instant you can.You have to do the air :h: before you even move after the stomp kick.
The only reason this is so hard to do is because we can’t mash with Chun-li or we’ll do the legs. If we could, then it would be simple to mash this stuff out. **But if you watch the video, you’ll notice that in order to make this easier to do for himself, the player (kota813) uses up all of his air legs so that he CAN mash. **However, this is still doable without using up the legs or mashing, it’s just harder.
To make this easier, I suggest you set your dummy to super jump, then you should super jump yourself, use up your 3 air legs, then try mashing out :d: xx :h: xx :d: xx :h: to get the timing down.
GOOD SHIT! ryan. man i knew the legs were for some reason but i couldnt figure out why, but now that you mention the easy mash it makes perfect sense.
-edit how many loops are you getting ryan? i can do the loop but only as chun is going up… once shes starts falling down it seems as if i cant hit them… im practicing on sentinel…
I can do 3 loops, but then it seems like you need to do 2 head stomps and I keep dropping that. Too sleepy. I’ll try tomorrow and see how far I can go and how much meter/damage this can add to chun’s game.
thanks Ryan for explaining this. My playtime is very limited, and I want to practice so bad right now, I wanna be able to get it before ECT3.
My question is, Is it an actual infinite, and not just a loop that’ll stop? Can i do from anywhere on the screen? If so, that’ll be cool.
Just this week, Chun got spoiled. She has her dhc trick now, thanks to storm, and now a possible true infinite, thanks to Koda813.
Let’s find some more new Chun technology and make her top tier…lol.
you two should add me on http://www.facebook.com/Ludthinks
faster communication.
Dam I have to little time to practice, its a little sad… but I still can find out good stuff maybe XD.
anyway, after the kick super, at the launcher, if u time right the jump+Assist, the Assist will come out (can’t fund the logic of that) and u can continue combo even after some long combos. Theo ne I manage to do was launcher+ammy, sj…H.S, kikousho super. Not that great but something to look up right? Still want to do better than solo no assist/ no x-factor 900k damage =/
For some reason, I keep getting log out for trying to post on the chun video thread. I’ll just post it here.
These are matches from last weekend, before I knew her dhc trick.
i watched that first set lud LOL man dorm… i deal with that shit on the regular… poor chun. remember when you have phoenix that you can transport behind dorm on reaction if he does ball super… i think. he would have to xf in order to not be punished.
with your team (especially with storm) you can punish hidden missiles pretty well with hail storm on reaction. even better is thc if you only have 2 meters. unfortunately you have chun on your team so 3 meter thc is kind of a waste since chun will most likely wiff from across the screen.
i know you werent playing lame… but against hulk try to spam traps to lame his ass out. then teleport when he doesnt expect it… same concept as air homing fireballs just a different look… hulk scares me.
using storm first is hard cause she builds shit for meter… andy makes it work though.but i still think storm first is weak, no meter build for glitch and no meter for phoenix snapins if needed.
if you can, try and do those instant float overheads with storm. they’re great.
