forget it haha i broke it down. still so hard to get the timing. any tips on how to double jump after LL, i can’t seem to get out of the LL in the air. i’m pressing m,m,h, LL(additional H,H) and then up. is that wrong?

I tabbed out 2 of those combos last night, I didn’t bother with the combos with 2 JC loops as I wont ever use them in a match. Thanks for the combo vids Trag, super, super helpful.

Combo 1 is definitely correct and pretty easy once you practice it. The j.S after the initial C.legs in combo 4 might be a j.C, I haven’t had time to try and replicate that combo.

Yeah the buk combo has to be like a 2 or 1 frame link for the jab afterwards. Its really tight and its not like SFIV where u can plink the shit. You gotta go in raw and hard like the old games. Im only about like 20-30 percent success rate with it myself but i only really practiced it for like 30 minutes. I find it best to just delay the S as long as u can then immediately hit L right after S hits. If u delay the L at all no combo.

Its going to be hard doing that shit consistently online i know that.

I’m still getting a sense of proportion in this game, but with her bread and butter combo, it looks like Chun-li is pretty respectable for meterless damage right now. Nice.

I need some advice on the Buktooth combo.

I can do the jump cancel loop a little more consistently now up until when you have to launch the opponent with S, Then they’re at most too high for me even just for the first air combo. Why is that? Does that mean that i should press slower?

This isn’t entirely true. In fact, you can actually get c.H after a single loop without L or M. In all of my combos, I actually use stand M instead of L. Once you get the timing down, it’s quite easy. As for tips, try this:

After H-c.H, do jump L~M…M…H…S. That will get them to the right height. Basically, jump L~M as fast as you possibly can, then rhythmically tap out the M…H…S at a slightly slower pace. When you get the timing down, it will feel really natural. Getting M becomes common, and getting a stand L becomes trivial.

This is why in the combo thread I put the (slight pause) between those hits to help people realize the rhythm of the combo. Still, glad you’re helping out the Chun boards with some flashy combos and some advice :slight_smile:

I did not expect to play Chun-Li at all (I’d been using Captain America, Doom, and Haggar, mostly) but I tried her one time and I instantly fell in love. She is so goddamn fun in this game, I just need to practice a bit more cause I end up going into lightning legs all the damn time by accident.

im a newb and im really trying to get chunli loops down and such so anyone can give the notations so i can pratice them it really help me. all this reading is kind of confusing without notations -.-

What would be a good team with Chun-li? I was thinking Ammy’s cold star and sent’s drones for lockdown and runaway when needed.

According to the guide, Chun-Li can do otg stuff with Wesker’s B assist. I get how you call the assist during a standing H and then jump cancel M for a difficult to block setup, which is awesome. However, when I do an air combo with chun and cause flying screen with S, it seems like she lands later than other characters do, making it impossible to follow up with Wesker’s assist for otg. How exactly do you do otg stuff with wesker’s assist with chun?

there’s nothing special to it, try delaying your aerial combo after your launcher. xxx air S, land, call wesker, proceed.

Yeah i figured out how it works. You can do the first 3 hits as fast as you want. Maybe a slight delay is necessary with the second M but not much. It’s just when u get to the H u must land the H at pretty much the last couple frames that it can possibly land then the S must land at the last possible frames it can land. If that is set up correctly Chun will basically be pretty much touching the ground but still airborne and land the S and that gives u enough time land L after easily.

I’m a new Chun player and was wondering if I really need to learn all her resets and jump cancel stuff with her to be good?

Right now my BnB is l,m,h,c.h,S, --> m,m,h jump m,m,h jump m,m,h,s

Also I like to combo into her hyper a lot with her c.h poke.

I still have a hard time doing enough damage to justify how hard it can be to get in close on some characters in this game.

Also, I am competing in a tournament this friday at my college and I am sure everyone will have a little Doom, Mag, Sent, Dorm, Arthur keepwaway going on which gives me a hard time with Chun. I need any advice possible. I can get in on spammers, but people who actually know how to zone and plan on my attempts in beat me. I was thinking maybe get an assist to lock them down and them hit them with an overhead to open them up?
