IMO Taskmaster Aim master arc assist is better. It covers a little higher up which helps protect spidey’s approach from the air while still giving combos on hit.

Does Spiderman’s Web Swing assist hit overhead? I figure since web swing hits overhead when he’s on point it’d make sense …

Is it permissible to start a new thread about “Spider-Man in General” basically just an off-topic in terms of MVC3, and instead a thread focusing on other Spidey related things like him in other video games, his new films, or possibly storyline?

Can anyone confirm that you can block after webzip, w.swing, airdash cancelled (ex. sj, ad x c x block on way down) I know you cannot block during AD animation.

Can you assist after normal jump w.zip, w.swing?

Can you control which side you bounce off of MaxSpi (ex. SF Vega walldive, hold u/b or u/f)? MaxS is instant but has no invincibility. You will get stuffed/trade with high priority normals. Being able to control which side you bounce would be very useful.

Are you invincible during hit animation of w.throw?

Stuff I noticed after playing:
You can w.zip straight up while grounded, but you it goes a little lower than a sj. I cannot confirm but I’m pretty sure you’re in nj state after. So maybe you can wzip up x ad + call assist to crossover. I know you can cancel wzip into normals and ad after the web makes contact. I don’t think you cancel wzip to specials, but I’m sure you can into maxSpi.

SJ wball is not that bad of a move to spam. You can still can up to 3 shots/screen if you’re high enough, cancel into MaxSpi if it hits. A combo you can do is launch, b,b,c x wswing, b,c, ‘A’ wball xx maxSpi.

You can use wzip in sj combos, but you have to fast. So launch, c x wswing, b,c x u/f wzip, a,b, ‘A’ wball xx maxSpi might work.

Sweep is long rang and can combo into spisting, then launch. Standing B sucks, whiffs crouching.

Wball as an assist for combo potential isn’t all that great. He uses A’wball and the hit stun is similar to most characters jabs. It also put the opponent in an aerial state.

Other stuff I’d like mention:
There is a difference between crossUP and crossOVER. CrossOver just means switching sides. CrossUP is an attack that also switches sides. Please differentiate between the two. CrossUp and crossOver, I believe, will be a very important aspect in Spidey’s game b/c of his mobility.

Another thing, please save all that comic stuff for another thread for lore of something. It’s annoying trying to get information, with every 2 posts being…“Spidey is so awesome! He should this certain color/or this certain taunt.” That stuff is totally irrelevant in a strategy game forum.

you can cancel his AD at any time with a normal or special so if you wish to block right away tap light and then block.

you can’t call assist during special moves or air chain you can however call them while AD(universal system mechanic)

you can’t control which side you bounce afaik but it hasn’t lost to any normals in any of my trials(will lose to some projectiles if they are in his flight path when you activate it tho)

I didn’t mean during, I meant after the animation ends. More specifically…wzip, spidey dashes forward, call assist. I know you can attack during the dashing part of the move, but I would like to know what else is possible. Same goes for wsling. After the kick, spidey is free to attack. I was wondering if you could block/assist.

What do u mean MaxSpi will lose to “some” projectiles during it’s flight path? Do you mean he can get stuffed before he touches the wall (no start-up invincibility)? Or do mean he goes through certain projectiles with the initial kick? I’ve seen it trade with a drill claw.

That would serve no purpose.

has anyone documented how much ultimate web throw sucks? i dont wanna upload a video if people have already shown it. seriously, this thing whiffs on sentinel

if you can attack why couldn’t you block instead?

it has no invulnerability so if your trajectory towards teh opponent has you flying throw an attack hit box you will get knocked out, not sure what your confused on…

RE UWT:

the only shit thing about UWT is the fact you have to be grounded to do it which just makes timing slightly annoying. other than that it’s gdlk. Especially with web ball forced resets.

From that i could understand, the problem isn’t UWT but the specific time required for Sentinel setup.
After a launcher, he reach the floor before every other character in the game because of is great hitbox, so if you want to catch him, you have to perform UWT a LOT BEFORE in order to have the rigth time.

Can anyone give a verdict on the possibility of a triangle jump with webzip? Is it possible to do a low blockstring, jump, immediatly df web zip, light attack? Considering how Magneto and Storm’s triangle jumps has been nerfed, if Spidey has a viable one I’d shit my pants.

You don’t have to jump in order to do this. You can do crouching blockstring go to neutral hit webzip and hit with an ariel attack. no need to jump. bring in an assist to cover your ass tho, as i’m sure it’s possible to get poked out of it.

wait how are you guys setting UWT up? i was in training mode just trying things out and just starting up UWT in front of anyones face misses. this didnt happen in mvc2 AFAIR

Just to make it clear: it only works if the opponent is airbone. Try setting the dummy to jump and see if it still wiffs on Sentinel…oh boy.

We were never told it could OTG, we just hoped that it could. The first thing we were told was that it was an unblockable AA grab in the gameplay demo S-Kill put up the day after Spidey was revealed.
