I can see enforcing no KFC in stuff like character threads (if you’re the thread owner), or in a noob post asking questions about the game. But punishing people for using it in general?
Shouldn’t we then stop calling Sentinel’s H and c.H “spit”? And his big jumping axe a “frying pan?” I actually don’t even know if that’s the move they call frying pan, but I’m assuming it is (it was harder to figure out then KFC = XFC).
Slang comes up. In fact, I love it. Slightly frustrating for new people sometimes, but stuff like spit and all other manner of funny slang terms (I mean, just look at the Yipes videos that everyone loves…) gives a certain character to this entire community IMO. Censoring it is just asking to piss them off.
In other news, this game is fun.

Start using the IRC more then.
I don’t even know what KFC or XFC mean, and I think it’s kinda a lame thing to ban this type of stuff. I suppose I see where they are coming from, in the sense that they want a great fighting game community where “noobs” don’t get confused, but it sounds like it’s just some type of inside joke. It’s not like people are running rampant and posting tranny porn or anything.
Still even though I don’t know what those abbreviations mean, I understand QCF, 236, etc. I sincerely doubt that those who don’t (such as myself) know what KFC was/is (all I know is it’s some type of joke/play on words), it’s not like I’m walking around my apartment cursing SRK for not being the “premiere fighting game site” because of it. lol

Anyone get punched out of there Ultras ?. I’ve played this guy like 5 games in a row, and EVERYTIME I do Beserker Barrage X, even just for some chip, I get PUNCHED out of it, some random punch. I activate it, and he’ll punch me even before Wolverine moves, boom, lost my super meter. Like WTF ???.
Very few level 1 hypers have invincibilty in this game.

MvC3 != SSF4.
Many hypers don’t give you any sort of invulnerability (even during startup). If someone is in your face and rushing you down, there’s a pretty good chance your hyper is going to get stuffed on startup.
That said, there’s very few circumstances in where throwing out a random barrage is good - it’s absurdly punishable when blocked.

Or it’s irrelevant because it’s not part of the ongoing discussion of the game. Avs != semitechnical discussion.
If you could tell me how to make me or the other mods more available to you to help keep the forums top-notch, lemme know. Seriously. PM me or hit me up on AIM or WLM. The mods are doing everything for your/everyone’s benefit. If you’ve got ideas on how to improve: I for one look forward to your PM or IM. xoxo
OK, taken care of. Sorry, dude. Much respect, but if someone says “hey ban me” you know what … I will, without any further thought as to who’s asking for it.
It’s a pretty simple request that I would hope people could honor out of respect for the people that run SRK who have to deal with the confusion that ensues. If people want to fight on this issue, don’t do it on SRK. The discussion is closed way above my pay grade. I gave it a gentle shot and was rebuffed. It’s “XFC” or XFactor. =\
I never understood the KFC thing. As I prefer calling it XF anyway, seeing as what it’s called, but anywhoo.
Question all, I dunno if this was answered by Capcom or was it just some assumption made, but with the cameo appearances abound in some character endings, is this an indication that these characters will not be DLC for the future? IMO, it would make sense for them not to be – guess it would narrow down who is up for grabs for inclusion, but I was curious if it had been covered.
This was a rule based upon his opinion though, not only that, he didn’t seem to have any credible facts pertaining to the reasoning for banning the slang either, he just seemed to ban it becuase he hated it. That’s pretty immoral.
It’s unlikely the character cameos signal future DLC. They’re just cameos, it happens in Capcom fighting game endings often.

Evidently there’s been way too many discussions where they’ve had to explain what the hell KFC is and it’s pissing people off. Stop it.
Also: run your site your way. This is their site. Out of respect for them, please drop it.

Yea he had no life left and the chip would of killed him. Pretty lame. Oh and in case someone does Berserker X and you are Captain America, Capt’s Stars and Strips will beat him. So if you see him powering up, just do yours, and it’s KO.
1 word: Lol.
Seriously saitsu, find the irc channel (If you read this). Don’t let the bastards grind you down!
(Damn I failed, guess its time to try again)

I use dante, iron man, and sentinel. How n00b is that team?
Its funny cuz if you put sentinel in and just wait til he’s the last one and activate x factor, you can easily kill at least two people.
Also, after playing this game, it definitely feels rushed out. At least the menu/online aspects. Some things just piss me off, like why isn’t the random stage the stage initially highlighted like in every other fighting game? So stupid. I always have to press back then select random stage.
@ N00b:
How do you feel about the random slots in the character screen not being the default position?
True – I was just wondering if it were fan service for those characters that people and/or Capcom wanted in but they couldn’t work in, as they mentioned earlier; especially given the coincidence of how many are making cameos given the requested characters peeps have been asking for (I still don’t get the whole ‘we want Phoenix Wright thing’…but oh well).
To twist around a popular Atheist phrase; “When you understand why you wanted ________ in MvC3, you will then understand why _______ wanted Phoenix Wright in MvC3 as well.”

lol, now that you mention it, I dislike that as well. In addition I hate how I can’t freaking skip the intros in the online matches. It’s just a waste of time. Also, at least for PS3, why is there an updating user data thing and then a save right after? Seems tedious. SSFIV just did it at once. There’s other stuff I can bitch about too if anyone is interested.
However, that being said, the game is a lot of fun and a nice change of pace for a person new to the series. Can’t wait to play more tomorrow. And the metal tin the game came in is impressive lol.
Woah shit really kicked off in here boy lol But this game does feel rushed the shitty menu’s the shit online, the shit character menu, shit endings anyone would think they put no effort into this game at all
The character endings were made in a day lets be serious now… The online lacks a ping feature or spectator mode let alone the ability to create your own ranked lobbies… you have to watch the player cards fight and health bars go down with no ability to kick people from lobbies… The random select needs to be moved to the outside instead of the center screen in the character menu…
I mean I like this game but it doesnt take a genius to see this game genuinely had no love behind it and is seeming more and more like a profit tool for capcom rather than a game made for the community… to further enforce this idealogy they have plans for dlc content already and because the game is so easy to pick up they can also milk money from the casual gamer who enjoys this game because they can do air combos now when they couldnt in marvel vs capcom 2…
I mean the aim of a company at the end of the day is achieve maximum profit but with a game like mvc3 you need to at least pretend you put some work into it
The intro scene is giving the game time to connect the players.
