MvC3 coming soon?

Dude learn your fighting game lineage and if you really mean that I feel bad for you because your way behind.

So is this being revealed to the press in secret today or what?

What if it’s a new Darkstalkers game OR SF3:TS & CVS2 as double collection for XBLA/CVS2?

True that. If a person only played in a chillin type of way it wouldn’t matter, but how many of us here aren’t competitive? Thats my point really.

if you’re ‘competitive’ then why don’t you maximize your chance of winning and pick a ‘viable’ character? oh no boo-hoo all the characters must be viable in the epic tournament

you don’t understand my woes, I can only use this character. why hath god forsaken me to low tiers? whyyyyyyy

I understand, thank you, I should phrase my point better. I just think there’s a good chance MvC3 will not play like MvC2 - and instead play more in line with TvC. That’s just my educated guess based on how Capcom and the game industry at large works vs “I love MvC2 I want it remade with the same non-competitive silliness”. Capcom will not develop a broken game as cult fan service, Hell - they could have made SF4 as a true sequel to 3rd Strike technically speaking, and how that turned out should clue you in on how they’ll approach it in a most obvious fashion. They will service the many before a fringe few, and the many loved TvC and were displeased with it being a Wii exclusive. The many liked it’s more balanced gameplay - bursts and all. The many also wants to see another cross-over between Marvel and Capcom. The few wanted a game only that few can truly enjoy, with an unprecedented ratio of roster vs actual viable options.

Put two and two together. MvC3 (if it is Marvel, they might swerve us with DC or something) will not look like TvC or play exactly like it (3v3 may return, maybe 4v4) but it almost certainly be more balanced and feature some of TvC’s mechanics. I’m not trying to rain on anybody’s parade or start some pointless flame war, this is just my thoughts based on observation.

And spare me crap about “this is MvC not a TvC thread”. This is a speculation thread, I could bring up the possibility of Fatalities and it’ll still be relevant (however absurd). How about you guys go to the MvC2 threads if you want that so much?

…Yeah, it sounded just as stupid when you tried that on me.

lets play VF guys!

:lovin:

well you are

I personally love it when the ‘playing to win’ ideology is twisted enough to pervert and polarize the very community that subscribes to it most. When it brings people to celebrating a lack of options, something got lost in translation.

I’m surprised TvC sold well on the Wii. There hasn’t been much of a market for legitimate fighting games on the Wii, but I guess that in itself makes it a novelty since besides the SNK Collection and Guilty Gear I can’t think of a single fighting game on the Wii.

At any rate, MvC3 is going to be on 360/PS3, bet on that. Personally a PC release would be awesome too, SF4 PC has shown that there is an audience there, and a lot of people that play stuff like MvC2 on GPPO don’t have a console.

ITT: TvC players afraid the new versus title will bury their skillset with gameplay that’s more akin to a game they couldn’t really play correctly and wouldn’t bother learning

Worry not folks, I think Capcom is going to win the MvC3 bingo that was posted some pages ago. Much to the chagrin of, you know, people that liked MvC2

There’s a difference between playing to win, and wanting spider-man and venom to be real characters.

:party::bgrin:

mvc2 isn’t on ggpo.

mvc1 is.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH![/Jacky]

i like when people think their ‘characters’ are actually hitboxes and sprites. if you have a problem with there being a lack of options mvc2 should be your favorite game because the top tier has more depth and variety than the cast in basically every other fighting game by leaps and bounds

hahaha this is so true

I feel the sarcasm but I seriously feel like this when I think of MVC2. Lets calculate the odds of getting a good team that you like first try. There are a debatable 4 GOOD characters out of 56 and 3 consecutive choices so. Odds are that if u werent jaded and chose three character you would have a 1 out 6804 chance of actually picking a good team. What a friendly game!!!

That’s a pretty ballsy statement… Good luck with that. Ironic Trivia: My favorite 2D fighting game is CvS2. Fancy that. And take solace in knowing MvC2 is available even now, so you have your ‘meta-roster’ at all times. Some of us like moving on.

@FullBlood person
Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Where have you been???
