MvC3 Buyers guide. Where to buy the game online

I’m in the same boat as you guys… excepy I’m right in between you two in Irvine/OC

Looks like the package arrives today but I can’t pick it up until tomorrow with the post office closed!

yawn. They finally got around to charging my CC, but not seeing anything new about my package. Figure I’ll get it next week. Rolled up to Toys R Us and picked a copy up yesterday and got the 15 dollar gift card. Screw the Capcom Store. Just going to resell my CE when it comes. Whole thing sucks.

i really wasn’t plannin on doing this, but i think i’m just going to have to pick up a copy a gamestop.

i know this is a retarded question, but i have no clue, so i’ll just ask. what is the difference between special edition and normal version? i only ask because i preordered the special edition but if i stop by gamestop to buy the game today then it will be the normal edition since that’s all they have.

if i knew i was getting my copy from the mailman by tomorrow, i’d honestly wait. but i don’t think that is going to happen. and if not tomorrow, that would mean i would have to wait until atleast next monday since i had the delivery destination as my office.

The normal edition is the full game, but the special edition came with the comic book, DLC codes, steel case for the game, etc.

Also UPS just dropped off my TvC fightstick. I have something to do before MvC3 gets here. Hooray!

You get the Jill and Shuma DLC for free once it gets released in a month. That alone is already worth the $10 extra you spend on the special edition since they’re gonna be $5 each.
You also get a steelbook case which I like, plus the standard edition cover looks horrible; a comic; an artbook; and a one-month marvel digital comic subscription if that’s your thing. Also the Shuma shirt capcom store exclusive.

In terms of value for what you’re getting, the $10 is pretty worth it for this special edition. But yeah, I too ordered from the capcom store and sitting here in so-cal with no game. Feels bad, man.

I also ordered and SE from the Capcom store and still is not here on Thurday the 17th. What I’m more concerned about however is “trying” to play all the people that have had access to the game weeks in advance and those that got the game on release day and put all those hours in.

Just how are those getting the game late supposed to be able to compete now without getting our asses handed to us or lamed out every single match (especially against the seeming hundreds that had the game weeks/a month in advance?) At least having the game on release, there would have been some semblance of an “even” playing field but now, that boat has completely left the dock. For shame Capcom Store, for fucking shame.

Yeah, I’m mad breaux.

Capcom has put up a blog post regarding the issue.

Here

Good stuff. Capcom really does care.

Got the email on Jan 11 saying my order was shipped, but it was in purgatory. My order finally reached USPS. Hopefully I get it tomorrow or Saturday.

2/17/2011 08:19 AM Accepted by USPS SOUTH SAN FRANC, CA 94080.

I just bought the last SE at my gamestop, couldn’t wait any longer. Just going to put the SE I get from capcom and place it in the gamestop mvc3 slip.

There have been some rumblings that the USPS tracking is inaccurate and shipments may not be where they’re listed as being. I preordered my game on the 8th and after a bit of a mishap (my money was withdrawn from my account, then refunded, and then withdrawn again), I got a notice stating that my order shipped out on the 14th. If the USPS tracking is accurate, my game was 175 miles away from me yesterday morning. I’m therefore expecting my copy to reach my house no later than Saturday.

However, if the game is delayed any further then I’m just not going to bother with Capcom’s store anymore, unless that compensation is enticing. Otherwise, I’m buying Capcom games used from now on.

Currently in Elizabeth, NJ which means the next step is them handing the order off to USPS and it coming here. Perhaps I will get it Saturday, if not by Monday. I will just play some more Just Cause 2 while I wait.

No update today on the status of the shipping but at least they are trying to bribe us who are waiting. Though this kinda sucks… greatly.

I’m wondering if the 17% refers to people who still don’t have the game or people whose game hasn’t even shipped. Probs the former. How do we let them know that we’re part of that group? I def want compensation, though I’d prefer to have had the game on time… :stuck_out_tongue:

Supposedly they have a list of everyone who is part of the given 17%, so it’s simply a matter of waiting now.

Ok so my friend who lives about 20 minutes from me on the other side of town got his today. He ordered the CE but forgot to add the shirt I guess, but he got his copy today. I better have my mutherfucking copy tomorrow.

Glad I picked up mine already, my shipment from Capcom was “MIS-SHIPPED” whatever the FUCK that means.
