Zero’s got freakin’ unicorn magic fairy dust only comparable to Wolverine’s full screen dive kick of…, oh forget it; Wolverine’s on some other shit. Anyone remember how late into SFIV’s shelf-life the first round of tweaks started occurring, things that were really meaningful. Wondering when if even I should be caring that Capcom’s paying attention.
Until then, I suppose I’ll keep falling on Zero’s sword; while making a sandwich.
c.L mashing is a really effective tactic in this game. What do folks think about increasing the frames on c.Ls? Maybe just enough to make frame trapping actually possible.
-Able to block during Mad Beast. SMH!!!
-More damage during OTG Machine Gun Spray
-More loops
-More damage on Divekicks and Air Joe
-Hitbox priority on Cr.M
-take away the stupid auto-pilot moves (you know which ones im talking about i dont feel like listing them)
-fix the bullshit hitboxes stares at zero
-take away tracking from phoenix fireballs and make it so DP has to be activated before she dies
-delete chun li replace with Guile
-fix the lag
-makes snap backs last longer
-make storm’s whirlwind not ass
-lower damage on a few characters wolvie, task
-lower grab priority
-fix x-factor…just fix it
-give wesker oroburos so he can throw them and they drain the enemies health and if he lands it enough times he automatically wins because of complete global saturation
-make it so tag-ins DONT HIT FUCKING OVERHEAD salty
edit
pics or it never happend
A thought to fix the utter and complete braindeadness of Tron and Haggar’s assists.
Haggar: Lariat is actually avoidable as it is, so let’s just say that it has a few more, say 10 or so, vulnerable frames after it ends. Or instead, shorten it’s active frames by a similar number.
Tron: Since this is the most ab-so-fucking-lutely braindead assist in the game, let’s limit to being…say, defensive. If it’s going to be a GTFO assist, let’s make it just that, instead of it being an incredible pressure tool as well. The most obvious way to fix this is, to me, by making sure that if it hits the opponent, it causes knockdown. Hard or soft (soft for preference, thus making it that much more limited in it’s spammability), but either way, it doesn’t make her assist into the auto-blockstring reset that it’s been up until now.
I think that increasing the frames on my of the crouching light moves in this game would be a terrible idea. Compared to a couple of other games the cr.L attacks in this game are (startup-wise) actually already towards the slower side of the fighting game spectrum it’s just that so many of them can be rapid fired that makes them mashable. Personally I haven’t seen this to be a particularly serious issue.
Lag makes mashing c.l much more viable than it should be.
If you want to nerf cr. l mashing, the best route would probably be to increase their pushback on block and recovery. This means they can get fewer effective reps from the pushback and you’ll be able to punish them whiffing them easier.
If you want to just discourage mashing cr. l, make sure everyone has an h move which is safe on block so that people can do safe block strings that are hit confirmable without having to mash l. Increasing hit pause can also make hit confirming easier without changing the actual comboability of attacks, as well.
Hey hey, now - Felicia’s the reason I got this game. Been using her even since I played Darkstalkers in a movie theater some 15 years ago.
Why would you want to remove any DS character anyway? We need more of them, not less. (Also also, “the lamest ass character in all of DS” is obviously Rikuo.)
On the topic of Felicia - I believe she needs SOMETHING that she can do while in the air. Even her Wall Cling can’t be done off of a super jump. I personally feel that taking her Air Delta Kick out was a bad idea, as it would really help her out. I know she’s an OTG character, but there’s a difference between a limited air game and NO air game.
Eh, if ti were up to me I’d kick Chun Li’s ass to the curb and pick up Demitri, I understand that she’s a popular character but I think she should step aside and give someone else a chance for a change. That’s just me though. And also if it were up to me we’d have as many DS characters as possible because DS has the most varied and interesting cast of characters ever assembled for a fighter.
Oh yeah, here’s another tweak I just remembered that really needs addressing:
Dark Phoenix is able to tag out AS SOON AS SHE RESURRECTS. This is utter bullshit.
She DIED. Whenever any other character dies, tag outs and assists are disabled for a short period of time. Dark Phoenix should be no exception - hell, if anything, Dark Phoenix should have a *longer *recovery time between when she can tag out and/or assist.
If she did, the resurrection would be completely meaningless.
This. A thousand times this.
the only thing i would change about tron, haggar and assists in general is that they shouldnt come out when the caller is being hit.
Personally, I’ve had to deal with way too many players with 2 battery characters they’ve fulled explored + 1 Phoenix that the only tactic they know is ‘Spam A.’
If they were actually forced to know how to use Dark Phoenix, it wouldn’t be such a problem - but all they need to know is get lv5, tag in Phoenix, die, immediately tag back with a character they know, get some super meter and die, lv3 XF, spam A, super, repeat.
Granted, I’ve learned now to just kill the first two characters as fast as possible, hit Phoenix a few times, and then dance around for the rest of the match, but even that’s an uphill battle.
Also - does doing a team aerial exchange still give you meter even if your opponent counters it? Because it sure seems like it does, and if that’s the case - that also needs to change.
I wouldn’t say that. She could still hold her own for awhile until she able to tag out. It’s not like she can’t attack until she tags out.
Exactly. It would just mean people would have to learn to use her outside of X-Factor lv3.
Learn to properly use Dark Phoenix? Outside of level 3 X-Factor?
PREPOSTEROUS!
Happy Memorial Day.
You know nothing about phoenix, and your solution to beat her is laughable if that is your plan A.
