I don’t think MVC3 will be a good spectators game. Reason being… its easy to execute these combos and the comeback and damage in this game is too common.
Basically if I see things in tournaments that I can pull off, it’s less interesting. What makes watching matches interesting is the mind games, mixed in with amazing executions under pressuring situations.
Because of that, I don’t think Mvc3 will last as long as other games. I could be wrong, but that’s how I feel about it.
I may be a little naive here, but isn’t what keeps these games interesting to spectators the comeback features added? Ultras, X-factors, Rage system. Its all designed to help out a losing player make a comeback. For example, you don’t hear many people cheering until OMG HERE COMES THE ULTRA!!
The way it is I feel MvC3 will be a very strong spectator e-sport (isn’t that the correct name of competitive gaming?). People will love watching the flashy combos and crazy Xf shenanigans. Quite honestly I’m dying to have a spectator mode online so I can watch friends battle it out.
