I’m not opposed to the idea. I’ll be the first to admit she’s probably the character I’m least familiar with along with Shuma. I just haven’t seen much of her in action.

Jill ain’t A. She’s in whatever tier X23 belongs in, in this case B.

As for the list, it’s certainly not bad, but I would argue your being too harsh on a few characters, and to lenient on others. That said, its still an accurate representation of the game.

I need to have a mini-rant so excuse my excess salt and hate. I am not a Smash fan but as I read the communities hate for the game I have to think about this game. In reality, this game is not on a much higher technical plane than Smash (I am a huge MVC3 fan). I feel like this game has little technical depth or strategic depth despite the team focus. It instead has a lot of flashy/fluffy depth with intricate team compositions etc. If it wasn’t for the sheer coolness of the characters, the versus engine, and the artwork of the game I wouldn’t be able to take this game seriously. I am a huge supporter and decent poster of a lot of theory and depth for this game, but as I play it or watch others play it I notice that most of those things are us sugar coating extremely basic ideas or us discussing very true but very unnecessary tech. I have gained a little hope lately by seeing some emerging technology and I really want to write off this games seeming lack of depth to its short lifespan, but in all honesty I am a bit untrustworthy of that allegation.

Once again, if this game has no depth why does the exact same players end up dominating the game competitively most of the time? Why don’t you show us videos of you bodying J Wong or Combofiend if you think that you know everything about this game that they know?

I am a scrub who went to my first tournament and almost put Marlinpie in losers. that’s all the evidence i need. also noah was top 48 evo, GGs

This guy is right though, this game is pretty shallow. Tokido exposed the game for what it really was. No matter how potentially deep the game is, if Day 1 shit and herpaderp is still running tournaments after all the tech has been discovered, game is shallow.

Now that they’re nerfing the braindead shit in ultimate, we got ourselves a real game

Also, the argument about bodying top players is pretty retarded. There are top brawl players and even they admit it’s a silly game and is lacking depth. The simple fact that “top players” are getting OCV’d by a “relatively no name” should say heaps about the game.

Call me a scrub but I think banning phoenix would a done more good than banning gems or whatever.

Reminder: Tokido got absolutely bodied in Season’s Beatings.

me and dios will be crying while we spoon in the corner

The nerfed old herp derp only to bring birth to knew herp derp that scrubs can wine about

MarlinPie is inconsistent, man. The dude’s like me, he doesn’t know how to block, so he either dominates or gets dominated. And Noah being in top 48 at Evo just says a lot about the competition more than it does about the game. No one ever mentions how badly Chris G blew Noah up. The kid just played a lot of impatient scrubs is all.

I still say that a game this young can’t be written off as shallow. As good as Ultimate is going to be, it’s coming out way too soon.

Vanilla has too much stupid broken stuff in it. I mean, Quicksilver glitch now exists…

The more this game evolves, the more I’m thankful Ultimate is coming as soon as it is.

  1. Yes, that’s exactly what I said initially.

  2. Not at all. I use Dante too and he’s clearly overpowered. It’s nearly impossible for my little 'sien-ko to get in on a good Dante.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been using Zero for so long and learned all of his movements that I can beat him so easily, or at least that’s part of it… I’ve been using Dante just as much, but he’s much harder to nail than Zero, what with his incessant attacks and teleporting and invincibility.

Zero doesn’t have either of the latter (unless you consider hienkyaku a teleport even though he’s completely vulnerable during it). If the Zero is predictable he’s even easier to get.

Wesker… he’s just annoying at this point. Still a very potent character but without a beam assist he doesn’t scare me anymore. The only real problem I have with him is that it appears that he can teleport either behind or in front of you, either on the ground or right above you… I believe 4 spots in melee range of a character is too much… but I’m bad, so maybe that’s it.

Wolverine… ugh. Berserker slash and his dive kick really are hell combined with sentinel force and stuff. I can deal with the mediocre ones, but I really don’t stand a chance against a good Wolv and his assist…

Depending on how they’re played I have problems with everyone in the A tier, but I don’t think they’re overpowered.

The only thing I think that’s overpowered about Zero is the hard knockdown from his buster. jH is very, VERY easy to avoid. It’s a melee attack, honestly. Just don’t eat it. If you’ve got someone with range like Dante or Sent, just attack him (jS anyone?). There are plenty of things that can be done. If I can’t spam it successfully in ranked matches I don’t see how people are saying it’s safe to spam in tournament play (which was said in the Gfaqs discussion).

Dante is not OP he just has lots and lots of options
wesker is not scary without xfactor

The main annoying bullshit are hammer and tron assist (especially this) the rest is beatable must character have their own bullshit moves and priority and the same will happen in umvc3

You only hate Wolverine because of my Wolverine. Admit it. :sunglasses:

Smh.mov. Dante is OP, dude. Hammer is arguably the best special in the game (Along with like, Viper’s Swagsmic Hammer). He has an answer for literally everything, and that’s what makes him OP.

Dante is always 2nd best

World’s greatest troll?

He’s second only to Viper. Everyone else is FRAAAAAAYY.

Yeah, that’s when I started having nightmares about him :frowning:

And yes, Dante is definitely OP in some respects.

A few character beat Dante. He is not OP he just have tool for every situation not necessary the best tool but an answer.

Wolverine, She Hulk, Taskmaster, Dormammu, Zero, Akuma possible (Hagger, Hulk, Ryu, Viper)

You’re reaching like Dhalsim, man. A lot of those choices are mad suspect, but even suggesting that Haggar beats Dante is bordering on insanity.

The only characters that I would argue even have a SLIGHT advantage over dante are Magneto and Viper, and that’s not by much.
