Taskmaster my ass.
On the topic of underused characters, are there any characters like Spiral or Strider in MVC2 that jump up a tier or two when paired with the right assist(s) (Sent Drones for Spiral or Doom Rocks for Strider, for example)? Of course, every character can benefit from a good assist, but there has to be a character or two who becomes a whole tier better with the right assist (again, Strider and Spiral go from being decent without Doom/Sent to top tier characters with those assists).
Right now, I think that Spidey (with Wesker gun or Deadpool katanarama) and Skrull (with Sent drones) might fit that list, but there are probably better examples (please not something like Mags/Wesker with Sent drones; they are already ridiculously good without it).
Definitely skrull/drones, she-hulk/flame, wolvie/tatsu
whatttt??!!!? hes generally regarded as the single most versatile character in the game he fits on literally ANY team, does massive damage, great normals, good keepaway/zoning/chip, DHC well, ends dhc glitch,easy to play, did i mention he hits HARD AS FUCK?

Taskmaster isnt top 5 because the top 5 have an answer to every situation. Taskmaster is just solid, he’s not “the answer” to anyone.
Mag, Ammy, Wesker, Phoenix and Dante all have a way to get over there and/or limit your options. They also kill specific characters DEAD. Projectile keepaway is obsolete to these characters on top of all have fierce rushdown.
What are the thoughts on 5-10?

Akuma
2 meters in one combo? touch of death with any DHC glitch/XFC? Best beam projectile in the game? Full combo off throw/airthrow? Overhead mixups?
No bad matchups?

I agree w/ the taskmaster comments. That man is dirty in this game and easy to use.

Don’t see how he is better or even with Magneto but I guess it depends on what features you find important.
Magneto has mobility and is fast enough to create his own high/low mixups.
Tasky high/low mixup isn’t nearly as strong, he isn’t nearly as fast.
Mobility alone is what puts Magneto over Tasky for me.
5-10 definitely should include She-Hulk, Wolverine, Tasky, Storm
I really feel wolvie should be in top 5. berserker slash mixup can’t even be visibly defended. can u just spam like cr :l: to beat it? wolverine has a lot of tools.

I don’t know about you but I find being able to cancel soul fist and her dp into flight to be an invitation to turtle.
1-5 guys are all game changers. The all stars.
6-10 guys are the guys that can always round out any team.
Taskmaster may just miss top five, but being able to null beams, and having an easy get you in the corner combo that can end in relaunch or super, 3 competent, if not overly good, assists, 2 projectiles launched in 5 different ways, a ghetto air dash and unblockables. Seriously he is a jack of all trades. He does everything real damn good. he better be number 6.
Trish is a 7-10 candidate IMO. Trap assist is nice, she’s an elite point character just because of round harvest hyper alone which is basically a hard tag for free button. Oh and dat dive kick.
The rest of the 7-10 is a tossup between Dorm Doom Zero, Akuma, Storm, and The Canucklehead.
