Also, if you tech out of a throw, you also loose UnFly Mode.
Ok, heres what I thought about when I was playing with my friend at SJS. Sometime we get into this Sentiniel vs his Cable fight. Usually I’m flying higher so he can’t shoot without super jumping. although sometimes he gets up there to knock me down of course because I’m quick enough. I get into unfly mode which I am still not exactly getting. I’ve flown in unfly mode like you’ve all been saying, and deactivate flying and I’ve never experianced any gaurd breaks. As far as I know, you can only get gaurd broken if you push block in the air and on ground for an milisecond. Someone explain this again without all the confusion.
You have the wording incorrect. Sentinel CAN get Guard Broken when he DEACTIVATES UNFLY MODE, but not when he UNFLIES (stops flying from flight mode).
so if sent is high in the air flying…and a storm hailstorms which is blocked by the unfly Sent…it’ll gaurdbreak him…and you can hailstorm again?
There’s something to be explained here.
There’s a period after you block something in the air where you don’t automatically block but are still considered to be in blockstun. During this period, you can pushblock. Guardbreaks effectively attack you after this period is over. However, it is possible to block and then get hit by something you could ordinarily block by letting go of the stick. (This is why the CPU dummy gets guardbroken by anything. After it blocks something in the air, it stops.)
After you unfly while in unfly mode, you CAN get guard broken; however, since you’re superjumping (and probably used an airdash) you probably won’t be able to hit them after they get out of that state, and someone with no airdash (like Cable) doesn’t have much of a prayer getting to hit Sentinel before he hits the ground. However, it’s very possible. Try this; get Sent in unfly mode, then have him unfly, then have Cable do jump jab to connect with him as he falls, wait, AHVB.
Sorry for the essay.
Unfly mode is just being able to do something after deactivating fly mode. Whether it’s block, attack, harddrive super even…
To activate it, get hit by an attack in the air that knocks u on u feet. Any launcher (without follow ups) for example. You land on your feet on the way down, therefore you have unfly mode. Assist sometimes too, like cyclops…but not Iron Man or Psylocke, cause u get knocked on your back. So, basically, if u can roll afterwards, it doesn’t give you unfly mode.
To deactivate it (WHICH YOU DON"T WANNA DO) is 1…
There’s a limit, like fly, unfly…that adds 1 to the counter, and i think you get like 4-5 fly, unfly.
The other is to normal jump.
The reason you don’t want to lose it because first, offense wise, you can keep people in blockstun in the corner, while callin like capcom AAA and just keep fastfly, unfly until u eventually hit them…it’s basically a rush down.
Defensive wise is also great. Say your in fly mode vs storm…Storm decides to hail. If timed right, u can unfly block, fly again and attack. Works great against cable too, but u gotta block before a AHVB.
Well sorry for the long post, but i hope it helps.
Can anyone explain further the partial unfly you get when you turn red?(Sentinel’s super armor while getting hit by a move that doesn’t launch him like ie cr fierce and storm does st rh) You can’t unfly and do a move. But you can sj or normal into flight/unfly and you can block.
Elu
R U Sure, because Normal jumping Takes away unfly mode? I dunno i’ll have to test it sometime.
how do you unfly with cabel?
lol
that was too funny.
lmao
actually, for those of u that don’t know, characters without the fly command can take advantage of unfly mode.
I remember reading somewhere that justin wong was calling out assists after being put into unfly mode before it was discovered.
I also hear that cable can take advantage of it by doing an additional ahvb immediately after tking an initial one(meaning when he goes up he does the 2nd ahvb be4 coming back down)… tho I havent knowingly seen it(maybe I have)
morrigan can do repeated shell kicks
bumping an old thread
k. how come?
