My friend just told me that MvC2 doesnt work on his PS3. Anyone experience this?

Well considering PS2 hardware isn’t actually in the PS3 I would imagine alot of obscure and older titles aren’t gonna be compatible. Just use your old system.

That’s disappointing. Hopefully they can fix this by patches, or whatever.
That’s one of the reasons I want to collect games on the PlayStation systems: since they’re supposed to be backwards compatible with future systems. I don’t otherwise have any use of the Anniversary Edition or Alpha Anthology games I bought. I already had those for Kaillera.
… Aside from supporting Capcom, and hopefully future SF projects, of course…
My PS1 Darkstalker 3 works fine on PS3, thats wierd.

I got a chance to play a 20Gb PS3 (if this matters any), over here in Iraq in our MWR place and of course being a huge Fighting Game fan I played some fighters on it. To get to the point I did test and play MVC2 on it and it worked fine for me. I can try other test with other fighters that I have out here if need be. I hope this helps, don’t know why it did not work for you. My copy of MVC2 is not the best but it plays well.
Sorry for sorta hijacking the thread, but can someone tell me if SFA Anthology (PS2) works 100% on the PS3?
PS2’s are cheaper and you don’t need an adapter to use your older controllers.
Man that sucks. I don’t know if it matters which system you own, and by that i mean 20 gig or 60 gig, but he has both so i can try it over there and get back to you on that.
Ok, I’m from the philippines so just tell your friend to mail me his PS3 and i’ll fix it up for him. It’s no charge too…
Hmm does your friend have the most up-to-date firmware? That could probably be it since the original firmware had some minor problems with PS1/PS2 game emulation.
