Ohhh and for the whole mashing thing, I’ve noticed that you cant mash to late or to soon…Almost as soon as you see all the white shit lagneto throws at you is when you start rubbing, At least thats what i do and I can mash out on pad! Now I cant say that I can mash out 100% of the time or anything but I can do it a good amount of times because when your playing against somebody and your connection together sucks. I massacred “SolitaryClock36” about 1-2 weeks ago 7-1, with the only win he got through a lagneto switch. I was under the impression that you were using that handle and I was a little surprised because I did not think/expect you would change your style to a 100% lag based play, but since it is not you then it is not an issue.
Quickest way to infinite to the corner is any variation of ROM mixed with a normal jump infinite FORWARD. So you can do up 1 2, down forward 1 2, normal jump 1234 then repeat for example.

mashing is latency dependent, the worse connection you have, the earlier you have to start mashing.
start of the round, your problem is that you either are NOT holding a true up, but up/forward or up/back OR you are not holding straight up soon enough before the actual start of the match. Sometimes you need to hold up for an entire second before it registers online.
Storm C.lp is weak compared to magneto clk. not even close. We’re talking like 3 frames to 1 frame.
I won’t be playing marvel for quite awhile. Probably won’t be for a couple months at least. Without getting into the reasons I’d like to leave a few thoughts about what I’ve observed about the scene recently.
Ever since the post about the modified air dash, everyone I’ve seen online has been trying to incorporate it into their game play. So as a message to all the readers and mvc2 players if you want to get better go innovate or study shit by yourself instead of getting hand fed everything it’ll make you that much better of a player. Else you gotta sit here and suck because no one fed you important game play info?
Apparently Khaos will be playing Sanford, as discussed in the mvc2 general thread. I personally think Khaos is going to steamroll Sanford. This is funny because while I like Sanford and consider him a skilled player, I hesitate to consider him a good player. It’s a small distinction.
MvC2 is in the unique situation in that as a competitive game you really are only as good as your competition. Because of the lack of online in the prime/majority of it’s life you really needed to have good experience to get anywhere at all. I believe that if MvC2 was instead released in place of MvC3/UMvC3 and players competed now the “top tier” community at mvc2 EVO would be completely different.
Sanford had the luck of being around competitive players and gaining experience. His other strength, the mastery of skills and techniques (we can call it execution) helps a lot as well. Because of these factors, Sanford sat at #2 (or at worst top 5) for quite a bit of marvel. But as a player sanford is not good. Since mvc2 is so execution heavy, he got by because his execution was godly.
Sanford makes really stupid gameplay decisions. He goes on tilt easily and performs poorly under pressure. Toward the end of mvc2’s competitive life, he totally threw away some wins that were completely winnable. The evo 2009 is his only saving grace IMO. I guess what I am trying to say is that I think Sanford would totally fizzle out if mvc2 was today’s hype game and all the other gamers jumped ship back to mvc2. Sanford loses to kids far worse than he is because his key strengths revolve around overpowering a player through execution rather than solid gameplay represented by the jwong spectrum.
If Khaos was fighting fanatiq, jwong, yipes, chris schmidt, etc. I stack the odds in their favor over khaos.With fanatiq being the weakest of the bunch, these guys are all more consistent players than sanford.
I’ll use fanatiq as an example. He started off as a shitty msp player who pretty much was a copycat off of every other msp. But gradually he played smarter, and despite the lack of a storm assist he played well and established himself as a good player toward the end of marvel. These kind of players do not overwhelm you with execution, rather, they execute good gameplay backed by good execution. I don’t see sanford with the right attitude to win. Heck I think fanatiq was beating sanford which is kind of sad when you’re supposed to be the top veteran player. I do not think Sanford can try to “out execute” Khaos, in fact I think it’s a counter matchup because I believe Khaos will be playing smarter and has better execution. Too many times sanford wins because he relies on “out execute” a player rather than playing well.
How many times when you’re watching a marvel video online with sanford do you see him trying to scrape his way back into a match with a half dead sentinel/capcom and the commentator says something like, “Well if sanford gets a hit in he’ll make it hurt max damage 100%” well that shit isn’t a factor because sentinel is half dead already and trying to run it back at the point is like hoping for a lucky punch in boxing. That shit worked a lot in 2005-2007 level marvel where most of the “good players” were just kids who knew how to play with the top tier characters but nothing more.
In fact, I saw some videos he posted up of his “training” and man those videos were so ass I feel like I could beat sanford in that state 10-0. No exaggeration and this is coming from a person who doesn’t like to brag. Make up your mind. Are you going to whine and say ROW is a shitty ass overhyped team but then turn around and start showcasing a half assed version of ROW as though it is going to help you win???
In closing: I genuinely like sanford and rooted for him to win many times in the past. But coming in with a half assed gameplan, throwing away your own roots without correcting any of your basic faults is going to earn you a quick loss. I feel like sanford still is playing marvel as if the community outside jwong and a select few are ass.
Khaos, I believe a better investment would be to challenge yipes or chris schmidt. Those 2 would actually provide good matches and actually are good players.
as for the rest of what you said in regards to sanford…he hasn’t played for two years, and based on his recent posts in the relationship thread in GD, no one except him knows how seriously he will be taking this money match. if he really wants it and trains hard, it could be a great moment for MvC2. If not, Khaos will probably win 10-5 or something.

Yes I believe I remember this. But Yipes often did it. The questions is, is there certain setups into Hyper Grav Tempest that make it harder to mash out of. That’s why I heard Yipes used to use that. Also, is there a setup for smaller characters? It felt like Vegita had a setup.

I’m disappointed with Sanford because he made a huge deal about how much ROW sucks but then he showcases weak videos playing ROW after.
