Mvc2 announced for 360\ps3

I’m glad that i’ll finally be able to beat down people like you with mid tier. Its going to confuse the shit outta you haters

Yup. I for one will be doing the same.

It’s kinda good mvc2 doesn’t have a more playable cast. If you want an example of a game that has a huge playable cast, see Tekken 5 :DR or T6:BR. To be comprehensively good at those games, you have to spend immense amounts of time playing/learning. It almost becomes a chore.

Sure, there’s tiers, but (so far), they’re not that far apart at all. So in the end, you need to learn 40+ characters and frame data for all of them – or just be comfortable with losing a tournament to some new characters/moves you have never seen before in your life.

12-15 characters that can be mixed-matched multiple ways is more than enough in many ways, and on top of that, mid and mid-upper can be mixed into teams.

You could tone down Sent/Storm/Magnus/Cable/Iron Man without losing much, as opposed to how it is now where they get spotted a 10 point lead before the game begins.

I honestly don’t think toning down the top tiers would make the game balanced. Even if you did that the low tier characters still wouldn’t have a chance.

I think beefing up the low tier characters would be best for a re balance.

Or everyone could just play top tier =P

sorry it wouldnt be marvel if you would rebalance it … no matter how you do it … if they do a rebalance than i would like 2 have a original and a rebalance mode …

You didn’t understand my post.

Guilty of this. I’m working on rotating Tron out for another low tier. She’s an asset to low-tier teams, but she discredits many good players who throw her into low-tier teams.

Does it concern anyone else that at 3’10" in the preview video lightning storm chips iceman?

Wow… you noticed that… I didn’t… that’s weird.

The characters are fine the way they are, you understand me now?

lol @ my spelling

Not a Storm player, so I don’t know if it normally does or not, but–

Iceman’s block isn’t chip-proof. There are a few things that still penetrate chip damage. Take Tron’s drill for example…

Really? shit. I’m at work, can’t watch vid… Another thing to ‘‘fix before release’’. I hope to god they do.

only beam/FB/lightning proof AFAIK. Stuff that’s ‘‘energy’’ of some sort. Anything physical, including projectiles (i.e. spiral swords, sent drones) will do block damage.

This is my issue. Lightning storm shouldn’t have chipped him, but it did in the video. If they fixed that aspect of iceman, how do we know they havent ‘fixed’ issues with other characters? I know they said they ported the DC version, but the video blatantly has that shit in it.

I hope im wrong though.

its the ps2 version. run!!!

the dreamcast version does have that shit in it, lightning storm chip’s him

And so the panic subsides…

I’m more so curious on any possible effects on gameplay that the extended background will have… I think on incoming guardbreaks and snapback the extended view point might have an effect.

Thats good to know. Playing for what? 9 years and i didnt realise. >_<

I wouldnt have thought anything, since the playable area is still the same. ie. in 16:9 mode, when a character is ‘cornered’ he/she wont be in the ‘corner’ of the screen. They will have a small area behind them where the view has been extended.

At least thats how i interpreted it.

Right, but the visual cues will be much more interesting now, I’d think. You’ll be able to see people before they can be punished/hit/guard-broken, I would think… ? I’ve only played the demo for two minutes so haven’t tried any of this… anybody?

I checked on my arcade cabinet and both Lightning Storm and Hail Storm chip Iceman there. What hobo crack version of Marvel you been playin’? O_o

There is actually one thing wrong in the video. I’m surprised nobody has apparently noticed it. I’ll hint and calm a little bit by mentioning it’s intentional, but it immediately caught my eye.
