Iām on the LMHS side of things. 6 buttons just seems redundant in a game as fast as Marvel. One reason that Skullgirls works with 6 is its combos need different buttons to be pressed in order to extend them. Marvel is just getting a low or high hitconfirm into a chain into special that can be linked afterward.
I agree once you get into heavy use of assists and THCās then itās not as necessary as youāll have a lot of other stuff filling up the neutral.
If itās gonna be more like Xmen vs SF or Skullgirls then 6 buttons would be more interesting. The 2v2 thing is only a rumor though so Iām holding out for 4 button, 2 assist MVC2/3 style layout.

Honestly, Iām fine with MVC2ās control scheme. I hope they use that because Iām a pad player to begin with.
I just really donāt like the TVC control scheme becauseā¦ I dunno, it just feels more stifling, it doesnāt seem to allow for more variety. One of the buttonās functions is open to interpretation. I donāt like it.

I wouldnt be surprised if Lupinko is trolling with some of those. I remember he had some fake outs to keep us on our toes during the UMvC3 hype train.
I really doubt he would go for a complete fake on the first go for UMVC3 though. I mean even if he is faking about the roster itās not like people are super enthralled about what heās leaked so far any way.
The fact that heās talking in general pretty much confirms that MVC4 is gonna be a real thing and thatās good enough.

as much as i fuck wit CVS2 i dont think the following is as big as MVC or Street fighter plus i like MVC more because there so much more possibilities. especially with the 3 on 3 tag teams vs CVS where its basically a lot more simpler and less hype.
LOL Duos was basically the XF of MVC1. I donāt think people are ready for War Machine/Strider duo. Makes Morrigan missiles look fair.

iām actually curious, how serious were the pre mvc2 games taken back in the day? The scene for them seems so obscure and iāve never found any footage of it.
mvc1 had a short tourney life. theres footage on preppys website
It used to be a pain in the ass to make things available: you had people trading/selling VHS tapes to get footage. Iāve got a tiny bit of older footage on my site, and GGPO/Kaillera has really helped people re-discover these games from what I recall.
