I’m not really understanding what there is to be hype about here, shit looks/sounds pretty wack to me? I guess mostly it boils down to “Capcom is putting out a new game”

What is it about the game your not liking? I’m liking how the tag mechanics are shaping up and the gameplay is still Marvel.

The biggest thing is that the graphics/artstyle are just totally wack, no joke it looks like garbage right now. Also, I had bigger hopes for the gem system, I would have preferred to see something where Hulk with Power Gem can do different stuff than Morrigan with Power Gem; atm it feels almost like “pick your VS and VT”, which imo is going to make things pretty homogenized. The simplified control thing sounds bad, but I guess there is still hope that it could be reverted. I also don’t like the sound of the new tag mechanic, I would have much preferred a classic assist system (in addition to 3v3). Overall it sounds to be about what I expected: Disney and Fischer Price present Marvel vs Capcom. If an Indie Dev put out a product looking like this they would get laughed out of the fucking room

No one is going to dispute the game looks like shit. I hope the game can be delayed so Capcom can work more on the visuals and presentation.

I don’t have a problem with how gems work. The making them work differently for each character could have unseen problems. In vanilla MvC3 x-factor worked different for everyone and some characters didn’t get what they needed out of it. Hulk got no speed boost with his x-factor no example.

If you are placed in the cube you can’t block or tag out. You can attack tho so having a character that does huge damage and armor will benefit with this gem

To be fair, the Space Stone minor ability seems pretty meh at a glance. I imagine a ton of instances where you’re vacuuming someone and they just smack you out for free.

Apparently you can push people out too.

have you played mvc1? wavedashing is in there but its pointless, since dashes carry a character full screen or nearly it. this plus the fixed camera (THANK GOD, THAT ZOOMING IN AND OUT IN MVC3 DROVE ME CRAZY) means the game will be more like that

wolverines dash was full screen. only character you needed to wavedash with to make effective was GWM at high level

Yea I guess. Just now I was testing out shadow lady and chun wavedash and them shits are pitiful. KenRyu is good but its still KenRyu. Might as well not do it with Venom and Hulk. I forgot about strider whe he has ourobouros but that is pretty much it.

SFV had 1+ year to change the visuals (potentially more depending on how old was the Alpha build they showed us at CapCup 2014)

MVC:I has at best 4 months before it’s going gold, after which it’s either patches or we’re stuck with the iOS graphics forever

Yeah, they’re changing people’s supers. Hulk’s gamma quake and Hawkeye’s level 3 are completely different, and Thor has a level 3 now.

Hopefully She-Hulk gets retooled too, her supers were pretty lame last time. Barely useful for anything.
