Discussing this is pointless (and off topic here anyway), since Ryce discredited these leaks. And my own source (who leaked the gameās existence, as well as details such as 2v2, the same time as Ryce) mentioned a character that isnāt in that list.
Honestly thereās nothing TO do but wait until more reveals come out, then start crossing off lists. Until then, no point in putting stock in any list regardless of the source.
Marn would have undoubtedly have to swap out Alex. I remember TvC at EVO. His Alex did some nice air powerbomb resets and he did take advantage of Alexās devastating baroque combos but the majority of the work was done by Zero. Not only that, but he got away with murder. Many dropped combos, didnāt even go for the optimized double buster loops or sougenmu buster loops. His Alex did have some nice sequences though. Check out this match against Kurasa.
Lets hope this weekend we get a reveal trailer at CES, perhaps that will quickly put an end to all this.
Lets be honest though the Ten Count roster WILL have many characters in the game most likely because imo they played it safe on the Marvel side, I think we all expect many of them to make it.
The next reveal could be Chun and Hulk, doesnāt mean this dude was wrong or right. I think its going to be a while before people will accept this dudes list as deconfirmed.
It sucks but the majority of people dont follow it as closely as us, theyd ont even know Ryce exists tbh. The shit list got the most publicity although with EventHubs who knows maybe Ryceās can catch up.
Max made a video today basically saying that TenCount list is false too.
Yeah and he made the excuse that his list āthree months oldā. So even if he does get several on the Marvel side wrong, heāll claim itās because his list was old.
Honestly common sense says that right there is a reason its fake, there are many other reasons but when someone qualifies things its a quick sign they are not factually accurate.
Its borderline retarded the amount of outs he/she gave himself. They said its old info but they also claimed Capcom is intentionally leaking wrong info and to top it off used that excuse to discredit other leaks that were discrediting his/hers.
Where as most true leaks do not require qualifiers.
And most legit leakers also donāt want to get their sources in trouble. Which why sometimes they are vague and always wait for the right time to give more info.
I have no issues with Todās on some characters, like if Hulk claps you, and spends some bar, you should be dead, no question. The problem comes when everybody can do the same damage, certain character types have no business doing big damage
At that point, those characters become pretty much unviable without big damage. Might as well be playing BBCS where you do tons of shit for pittance damage. This is Marvel, everybody needs some dirt and grime.
^Strider and Chun rarely relied on their ToDs in MvC1. They were still really strong characters despite that. With a Red Venom and Gold War-Machine ban, even more so. Itās not that I donāt want ToDs in the game, but I would have way more fun if a character didnāt absolutely need a ToD to be good. Thatās part of what made MvC3 so boring for me.
Iād rather have all the characters designed around dirty resets than damage. The smaller characters would be faster and have more multi-layered setups (left-rights, high-lows), while the bigger characters would have stronger but more punishable options (super armored attacks that are unsafe/uncancellable on block, command grabs). Maybe itās just me, but a nasty reset/mixup gets me 100x more hype than a crazy long combo.
But they still had TODs (that they didnāt necessarily need to use) which is the point. What I fear is limiting TODs, or big damage in general and some characters end up not reliant on them by design, not by choice.
One of the reasons I enjoy playing King of Fighters XIV is that, even with a mid-tier, zoning character like King, I have the option to spend all my bars to deal near 800 damage if I need to. Yet, at the same time, that isnāt exactly my gameplan with her. Same with a lot of characters in that game. This is what Iām hoping we get in MvC:I, every character/team gets the option to deal big damage (for a price) but not everyone bases their game around it.
EDIT: The KoF example may be quite relevant as XIII did end up to be very TOD centric as the meta developed, itās probably the closest thing to an MvC3/UMvC3 equivalent for KoF. Meanwhile, XIV goes the opposite direction and focuses more on neutral.
