Considering the way Capcoms DLC model appears they have a GOLDMINE in marvel costume DLC
They have said the DLC characters are all new to the series but I do think you’re right on Thanos being the true boss. Ultron-Sigma is just a distraction from a bigger bad IMO.

New character thing is probably only for the first set of DLC. I’m confident in the rumor of X-Men/F4 characters being DLC in the future & I figure that’d mostly be returning characters. Only new characters I’d see coming from that is Silver Surfer (apparently leaked already), Nightcrawler & Magik.
Since this game is using assets out the ass, who do you guys expect to NOT return?

Most likely Rocket/Groot, Star-Lord, and Gamora.
Also expect Spider-Man and Vulture to appear.
Juri with new cybernetic eye implants from Ultron, would feel like a throwback for Juri X Seth.

That leaker simply said that X-Men and F4 characters would be DLC and this was five months ago so I doubt he was privy to anything passed the first wave of DLC. So if the three DLC Marvel side characters turn out to be Majik, Sue Storm, and Annihilus then what the leaker said holds true. He also did not say there would be no F4 or X-Men on the starting roster, we could be getting Wolverine, Psylocke, and Super Skrull out of the box and the leaker may not even know about it.

I don’t have a specific source for this. But this is a Marvel game and that means Spider-Man (or at least some version of him) is a lock. He’s the poster boy for the entire company; there’s no way he’s not getting in.
As for the 3 Capcom characters, that’s just a reasonable assumption that both sides will have the same number of characters. So if Marvel has at least 9 characters, including Spidey, that currently leaves 3 slots open for Capcom to fill.
Nah the first DLC will be newcomers Marvel wants to push.
X-Men/Fox will be second. Probably just Mags/Logan/Wade.
And expecting Marvel to put Psylocke first, MWAHAHAHHAHA!

I can see Thanos being a regular fighter and will probably be fighting against Ultron Sigma for his own selfish reasons, namely wanting the stones for himself.
