MvC 1: Infinites

Hulks don’t have an infinite. There was talk of an OJ infinite in the old MvC1 boards (the ones Migs and later I ran), but it was bullshit. 100% “combo” is, throw into corner, Gamma Quake, repeat (and do another Gamma Quake if they’re still not dead). Remember to mash hard while holding the stick away from the corner for best results.

does anyone have a setup for strider inf? only way i know of is to hit with psy or collossus and do a j. hp and start inf.

oh, another onslaught 1 inf with strider: j. mp, j. mk, j. hp, j. hk.

yo ozzie, are you tryin to learn every street fighter game ever besides cvs2?

with the first form of onslaught, the easiest is c. mk, c. fk. it works on most people. ryu has to do c. mp, c. fk though. and strider’s a tid bit different too, i think. but all in all, this works. just remember that he gets stunned after the fk.

I already posted Orange Hulk’s infinite. Maybe its not well known cause i found it out on my own and i don’t use Orange Hulk so no one got to see it. If you really don’t believe me i’ll make a kawaks replay and send it to you.

as i posted also Hulk has an infinite on light characters like megaman (and some other characters but it takes really wierd set ups on them) its: c. fierce -> short gamme charge up twice, land, relaunch -> short gamma charge up twice (corner only)

Orange hulk can also do a variation on this I don’t feel like posting it because the other one is just easier.

Damn, the onslaught infinites annoy me for some reason maybe because they’re useless.

Anyways… strider has a few set ups for his infinite…

Near/In corner:
Launch, sj. short, sj. forward, sj. roundhouse, fall, sj. short (OTG), land, s. strong, s. roundhouse -> start infinite

The only reason i would every try to use his infinite (because the timing is so hard its not worth wasting an air combo on it) is with this set up:

Near/In corner:

both players jump at eachother: j. jab (blocked), pause -> guardcrush j.strong, j. fierce, j.roundhouse, land, s. short, s. strong, s. roundhouse -> start infinite.

Might as well use it there because there’s nothing else to really go for.

Thanks alot and what is a kawaks replay im guessing its a vid if u can i would like to see it.And does anyone know how to unlock orange hulk ive tried to but i keep getting gold war machine instead.

I just saw it… seems like it would work, although I haven’t got the chance to try it. It’s like Venom’s, though, so timing and positioning would seem to be hella strict.

The infinite that went around for awhile was… in corner, c.fierce, short gamma x2, land, s.short xx jab ground rip, repeat. If you heard Orange Hulk had this infinite, let me say it Does Not Fucking Work ™.

Random notes:

Strider’s infinite can be set up easily after Collosus/Psylocke/random juggling helper. Just do a short normal jump chain ending with fierce, then otg into infinite. Hold forward to link back to the s.jab in the repeated part of the infinite. You might get a bunch of punch throws if you don’t time the jab right, but that’s certainly not the worst thing that can happen.

The way I remember doing Shadow Lady’s infinite was like this:

s.jab or s.short ->s.fierce /\ sj airdash into sj.short ->sj.fierce or roundhouse, land, repeat

Easiest way to do this was by “linking” the sj airdash after s.fierce, kinda like s.roundhouse into AHVB. Same motion, too: tiger knee XX 3 punches for the dash, then hit a normal. Not TOO hard once you get into a good rhythm, but I usually stop once a I get a meter (to avoid doing laggy-ass fake Proton Cannon) or over 2 (decent duo abililty). I used to do this in casual play somewhat consistantly and I’m slow, white, and have sub-par hand dexterity, so it’s certainly possible for most everyone else, too.

I wasn’t aware of the jumping dash infinite that was mentioned somewhere here, though. I’ll have to try it sometime.

She has another one, too. Not sure if it was mentioned. Her + Chun call duo, otg lightning legs, and keep mashing. It’ll keep going after duo meter is gone. Real stupid, but it counts.

Red Venom might have another infinite, but I’m not sure if it really is. It’s just dashing s.jab -> c.strong over and over on a cornered standing character. I’ve seen something like 4-6 reps of that combo, so I’m not sure yet. Maybe even just c.strong by itself? This needs to be tested.

Jin has something in the corner, too: FS combo, otg into c.jab -> c.fierce sequence? Can’t remember the specifics other than the combo is definitely character specific (Commando only?) and that I’ve seen a video of it done, so I know it’s possible.

Dasrik: for WM’s smart bomb infinite, just hold down-back for the missle XX smart bomb part. The last bomb should always hit late enough for you to dash in with jab/short in plenty of time. Super easy.

A few questions:

  • does Chun Li/Shadow Lady have a variation of Chun Li’s xvsf infinite (FS combo, repeated stomp, Juggernaut only)? Like on Hulk or something? I know she can otg stomp for a few reps, but then it stops.

  • anyone know the complete differences in the combo engines between cps2 mvc1 and the DC and PSX versions? I do know that on DC, the duo lag was removed, weakening (D)WM duos by allowing less rotations of War Destroyer. Also, I remember timings for some combos (Gambit’s infinite, WM’s flight-dashing nonsense, Strider double jump combo…?) was a bit touchy compared to the cps2 version.

As for the PSX version, aside from obvious gameplay changes, were there any glaring differences compared to the arcade? Maybe some combos that worked on one and not on the other? I’d check myself, but I don’t have either console version anymore.

OK, time to sleep.

Chun and shadow lady both have stomp otg infinites. Done like this: (works best on hulks/gief, but doable on most people)

launch, air combo end with sj. roundhouse, hold forward and get to other side of opponent before landing, stomp (OTG), stomp x infinite

one of two results will happen if done correctly:

A) chun/shadow lady will be facing the corner and will keep stomping off the screen, screen will be shaking etc.

B)chun/shadow lady will be facing corner but the stomps will bring her on a diagonal across the screen.

Once you get high enough off the screen you start seeing the hitmarks on the screen but not the characters.

Last but not least: crouching jab, strong, standing roundhouse, super jump up, fierce, air dash up, jab, up firece, fly, short, up fierce, (air dash up and towards, jab, up firece) repeat in parenthesis until fly runs out or you do a shoulder cannon right at the end.

Wouldn’t you have to be in some sort of unfly mode for this combo to work? I know that IM can do this or a similiar combo in MvC2, but must be in unfly mode for it to work. Oh wait…the airdash resets after flying…doesn’t it? shit, I confused myself:lol:
Anyone know what I mean?

Nope, you can air dash as many times as you want during flight mode in MVC1. Thats why WM is so cool.

I can do the gambit infinite when dashing up to/behind a jumping opponent and hitting them with it OR doing a kinetic card basically point blank (no dash)

how do you combo into kinetic card and then dash and still land the jab? do you have a video? the dash always seems to come out very late… like. not even close to be able to land the jab late…

Also, doesn’t RV have a ground infinite that doesn’t jump?
