Except the original Dante was half demon and half human; nothing angel about him. So, no, I’m not asking for original Dante. I’m asking for new Dante specifically for that and the accompanying weapons which all play pretty differently aside from a few borrowed moves here and there. Hell, we would even get the Ophion Whip for grabs and pulls.
Have you actually played the games or are you just trying to be funny? I’m honestly not sure at this point.
Don’t get me wrong, I like old Dante, but he’s cool in the same way that power metal is cool. It’s a cheesy, leather wearing campfest. Nothing wrong with that. Just like there’s nothing wrong with a character who’s still a sarcastic smart ass who just happens to use profanity (y’know, like we all do.) This shit is a never-ending debate though, so I’ll just FLOCK OFF with it.
But just to try to keep it on topic, with the exception of a few old tracks (none of which were ever Dante’s themes,) I prefer the new OST to the old one(s.) Though I’m not sure how licensing would turn out since they’re owned by another artist and were made prior to the game. They could also feel out of place if not remixed.
I’ve only played DMC1 and DMC3, skipped all the rest.
Honestly caring about whether he’s part angel or not is pretty lame. This is a plot point from the reboot and not the original vision for the character. And it’s predictable as hell regardless of that. IMO DMC1/4 Dante is the definitive one.
But anyways I don’t play Dante. He’s not my style. I play big heavy dudes (or big sexy ladies if they’re available)
…Looking back on my post on Wolverine’s MSHvSF theme, I’d think it would be cool to have official, modern remix of Ryu, Ken and Akuma’s MSHvSF themes in MvC:I (assuming the latter two are in the game).
I was listening through some Mega Man X music today, and it only just occurred to me how much I’d love to hear a good remixed version of this if Zero gets in the game:
Halfway through this video there is a rendition of Chun-Li’s theme that uses the same horrible techno leitmotif as the training stage music from MVC3.
But the rest of the music sounds awful as well, more generic hollywood epic score type garbage. Can’t say I’m surprised.
What appears to be Ultron’s theme also sounds like hot garbage, like somebody is raping a synthesizer and making music out of the poor thing’s painful cries.
I want to hear the music in a more official capacity before I judge. I didn’t like what I was hearing, but then again the quality of the video in general was questionable so it could sound better with higher quality. I will be deeply disappointed if they all have the standard fast paced EDM remix formula…I’m beyond tired of that shit…
Kinda wish Capcom would have the balls to put metal in their games(DMC/DmC was the closest they ever got), or bring back the jazzy, fun tracks they used to get for their crossover titles. Their reliance on boring, generic electronica is really starting to grate.
Give your games some fucking character again, dammit.
After the rocket teaser I think I have a solid idea of what the music will be like, and sadly it sounds just like umvc3. Some of the umvc3 themes were great like taskmaster, iron fist, amaterasu, thor, etc. but I thought most of them were way too overproduced and lacking proper punch.
I wish, with all my fucking heart and soul and will to live that they would just fucking look at the first mvc game and try to recreate that style. I don’t even know what you would call that style…good?
