The character crashes my mugen, and I cannot find his folder.
I have lots of unmarked characters in my old MUGEN.
Any tips on how to figure out what character is what without going through 78 folders?
The old mugen is like my warehouse. There are over 3,000 characters. And, I am using DJVan’s catagorie list.
i use fraps found with limewire…but it only runs at 20 frames per second on my computer for some reason

I had no idea what Ares EX was until now, but your video has taught me to avoid it like the plague. Good show.
If you’re getting a pop-up error message when MUGEN crashes, that might give a clue to which character is causing the crash. Outside of that, it’ll have to be a trial and error check.
Is there anyway you can change the character select music without screwing it up? I have tried to do so and the character select screen wont even load. I would appreciate help.

Go into your Data folder and open your system file with notepad, then look for the lines that says:
;Music to play at char select screen.
select.bgm = sound/[the name of the song that is playing].mp3
just replace the song thats being played on that line with your own, and if it still doesn’t work its because the name of the song you want to use has spaces and for some reason it won’t work in Mugen ( I don’t know why), so just make sure the name of your song is just one word, if it has spaces you can just edit the name of the song to make it one word. (ex Doingitagain.mp3, streetdreams.mp3, etc.)
i dont know if there wuz a topic on this but i wanted to know does anybody know anything about i code that u can put in that would make ur characters tag out like mvc style ??? ive seen video to youtube i forgot the actual link but i know if u put in “mugen tagging” in the search engine some vids would come up ive just got mugen and i really thought it would be cool to tag like that can anyone help me out to how to do this?
I dont know if the problem was addressed. (this thread has quite a few pages to look through.)
The problem with mp3s skipping and sounding like trash is the hardware acceleration on your speaker settings in the control panel.
Control Panel, Sound and audio devices, Advanced button for speaker setteings, performance tab, set Hardware acceleration to “none”.
It worked for me.

Here’s some Mugen Match Vids I’ve been recording for the past 5 weeks or so most of them don’t have sound or you have to turn it up REALLY high. The reason of this was cause I’m still new to snag it but I figured out the sound problem.
So next vid I do will have sound in it and you’ll be able to hear it fine.
Hope yall enjoy the matches I’ve got on youtube so far though.
