Bless.

Honestly it seems like this could have gone a lot smoother. I didn’t stay for the whole time, I left around 9:00, but regardless it shouldn’t take 4 hours to play two matches. As much as I love the HQ, it was damn unbearable to be in there most of the time. All the febreeze in the world can’t mask the fact that you’re walking into a dank man-sweat sauna.

Congrats to all the winners and I’m glad the event was hype and the stream got blown up, but to be perfectly honest this was one of the least enjoyable events I’ve been to. I’m not trying to cause drama or anything, you MTL guys all know me I’m not a shit-starter, but steps need to be taken to at least make these events run a bit more efficiently.

Zakky’s kind of right. I didn’t mind the heat/smell since I was in the smaller room most of the time, but next time let’s not run every match on the stream. By the time my team got to our stream match, none of us had played in 2-3 hours. Other than that, I thought the whole thing was awesome, loved the setups.

Woolie we’ll run our MM next time, seemed like you were too busy with the stream this time (which I hear was pretty awesome).

Thanks for having us!

I was doing commentary for most of the night, so I’ve seen what goes on the stream, what doesn’t, etc.

Woolie has ABSOLUTELY no fault to how he ran the thing. Believe me. I took over commentary partly because I like doing it (even though I horribly suck when I’m alone, but when we’re 2-manning it I find it’s much smoother) and also because I know Woolie was running around, trying to run shit.

Emlarr did a stand up job, both with me on the mic and with helping run the brackets. I think we got very nice tips out of her to make stuff run more smoothly in the future, but let me state this:

1- Some teams were late.
2- People were playing casuals on the stations (this shit ALWAYS, ALWAYS happens in every tourney the guys ran, and it fucking needs to stop).
3- People need to be on fucking point when you’re being called for stations.

Zakky, while I completely understand the frustration with the timing between matches and all, managing 18 teams of players is bound to take time, especially since we’re in a small venue with not a ton of stations, lots of people (which makes moving around just fucking difficult) and people taking up a shit ton of time to prep up.

Quite a few matches weren’t on the stream. In fact, most of them were not - the only stuff we made a point to stream (for the team tourney anyway - I was fucking falling asleep by 1:30 am, and I feel bad for leaving Woolie to having to run the stream and the brackets) were the last matches. Otherwise we just treated the stream station just like any other station and prioritizing the hype matches on it, but it doesn’t mean that the other matches weren’t played on other stations. Hell we missed Bad Beatz taking out JS’s team since it wasn’t on the stream.

So yeah, the HQ gets unbearable when there’s around 60 people in 2 small rooms, but there’s nothing that can be done about that other than having the AC fixed, and unless I’m mistaken it’s NOT going to happen as it would cost a TON of money.

All in all, Woolie did a fucking good job running the entire thing. I saw him first hand doing everything he could to make things run faster, all of us who were helping can attest to that.

I’m not pointing fingers or anything, but saying that managing 18 teams of plays is bound to take time is honestly a bit of a cop-out. Of course it’s bound to take time, but there is a way to do it so it takes less time than it did yesterday and that is what we should be striving for. If you don’t think that the event ran slowly yesterday then you are just being delusional. I sat at the station next to the stream station for close to an hour with no one playing on it before I got asked to move. I got back to my apartment at 4am after partying for 6 hours and the event hadn’t even wrapped up yet. That is not a good thing, no one is going to be on their best game after 12 hours in a sauna.

I’m sure this all sounds like I’m really pissed about the whole event, but I’m not. I wasn’t even pissed after leaving the event, I was just not too impressed with how it was run overall. I’m not saying Woolie or anyone else fucked up, I saw everybody working hard to keep things moving. I just think that as a community we gotta look back at this tourney and figure out why an event that was supposed to start at 5pm took until after 4am to finish. There is really no excuse for that kinda thing. If teams are late, or people aren’t reporting to the stations, or people are playing casuals, there are ways to deal with those thing and MTLSF should work to fix those kinds of problems for the future.

Once again, I’m not salty or pissed (even though I’m the free-est player in mtlsf), and I’m not trying to take away from the hype and the success that Massacre had. All I’m saying is that this was not the optimal way to run a tournament and things need fixing for future events.

Had you been in my team you would have played at least 3 matches by the time you left. Just sayin’.

I personaly felt it went very well! considering how small our HQ is and how many people came, everything still wrapped up in 1 day, and the event was very hyppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppe

We all wanted Arturo’s skin, but im glad they were the ones that put the finishing touches and had all of Canada (well, maybe not Alberta) behind them at the same time. the STC CHANT was epic

Good work Henri.

Wow, I didn’t even notice Arturo was there until Blitzman said something. Damn…that looks rough.

Nice night, props to everyone involved.

Special mention to:

  • Davero for sending our team to loser’s without the help of Art, gdlk honda.

  • Art, just for taking the time to come down, bringing the excitement to a high level.

  • Brian and JS for keeping MvC2 hype.

  • All the guys I played that I had never met before, like Dice, you guys are super chill.

  • That chick model that puked in the bathroom during her photoshoot and didn’t flush, that was pretty classy.

  • René, for stealing my avatar :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

  • And of course, all of MTLSF cause we’ll rule the world one day, it’s only a matter of time.

Wish I had been able to hang out with everyone and see Art’s reaction as he ate god’s greatest creation (after burger de ville), the poutine.
But I had to quit early due to unplanned issues at home :\

Arg, I’m still incredibly salty about it. But believe me, that last F no longer belongs. Proofs will be made soon.
